--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

was a dim morning, with crisp winter sunlight shining through the window. The room, belonging to a certain ravenette named Jeongguk, was decorated with posters of bands and an untidy table with clattered books all over.

The book is shabby with sentences written between the lines, streaks of pen ink spread across and random doodles drawn on the margin. A boy lay sprawled on the bed; his blanket kicked off the bed as the alarm rang noisily beside him.

Jeongguk lazily shuts off the blaring alarm as he goes to his bathroom to finish his morning routine. Once he's done, he heads to the living room for breakfast.

Not at all surprisingly, his parents aren't home. He went towards the fridge and took out some milk. His parents were rarely home due to work, so he was always alone at breakfast and dinner.

On the rare days they were home, mostly the time he would get his report card, they would lecture Jeongguk about how his grades are supposed to be how 'education is the most important thing humankind has acquired' and how his marks have to be perfect to get into Harvard.

His parents were the type of people who care about money and status excessively, his mother, Jeon Ji-Hyun, was the CEO of her own tech company and his father, Jeon Jae-Young, was the CEO of a clothes company.

Both of them were busy earning money and barely paid attention to their child, who grew up in the care of nannies. At first, he used to hate being looked after by a nanny and often used to rebel against them, playing pranks and sending them off, flailing their arms around while he stood in a corner laughing his ass off.

Once he asked his mother why they worked so much and his mother replied with the most basic answer, 'Because we want you to have the best childhood and education.

We want to provide you with all the things we've never had in our childhood, like toys and television.' Little Jeongguk was happy when he heard the word 'toys' thinking about all the fun he'll have with toys.

But as he grew older, he realized that the toys they brought every time they came home late at night were just a cover-up for their absence, and no toy would fill the space in his heart. He was home-schooled till he reached high school.

He grew used to being alone, having only his music and books as companions. He was a bright child from a young age, as told by the many teachers commenting on his ability to pick up things easily.

He had memorised his ABCs by the age of two. He had a talent for music, dance, art, and anything he put his mind to.

He took pride in his talent and knew from a young age he wanted to pursue it as a career. He has some songs he has produced on his own but hasn't uploaded them anywhere.

His parents had decided out of nowhere to send him a high school, even though he was in his last year. Jeongguk had protested but his parents just wouldn't give up,saying he needed some friends.

That was not at all true, he had one friend he talked to online, a guy named Suga. He had hoped that his parents would come home at least today to cheer him on or something, but they left on a business trip a day earlier.

It was a stupid thought but he couldn't help it. He was dressed in a black hoodie and black pants, headphones around his neck, hoping it would give people a sign he didn't want to be talked to.

He grabs his keys, sets out; connects his headphones and walks towards his new high school.

He weaves through the people in the corridor, some are playing football in the hallway, some chatting away near the lockers, and some are frantically completing homework.

He pulls out his phone, disconnect his headphones and pulls up his schedule. He heads to his first class which is English.

He reaches class and sits down at the back puts on his headphones and opens up a book he's reading. He puts the book down when the teacher enters the class.

The teacher says "Guys, we have a new student in the class. Jeongguk, could you come up and introduce yourself." He gets up from his seat and the class immediately starts whispering about how handsome he is.

He goes up to the front and says "Hi, my name is Jeon Jeongguk, Since I joined in the middle of the semester, I hope you all will help me catch up."

The teacher smiles and says, "I'll introduce you to our class president, Kim Taehyung. He'll help you out with the completion of the notes and show you around the school after class. You can go sit next to him."

She points to a boy with blonde hair, writing something in his notebook. He looks up at the mention of his name and makes eye contact with Jeongguk.

'He's so pretty!' Jeongguk thinks to himself, still holding eye contact with Taehyung. Taehyung blushes a light shade of red at the intense eye contact and quickly nods to the teacher.

He grabs his bag from the last bench and shifts to Taehyung's. Taehyung smiles at him and Jeongguk smiles back, trying to seem friendly.

He sat down next to Taehyung and saw him dozing off halfway through the lesson. He stared at his face, totally mesmerised by his beauty.

He had noticed a small bruise on his left cheek and knitted his eyebrows in worry. He wanted to ask what happened but shrugged it off, thinking it would be weird.
