Rem woke up drenched in sweat, her eyes scanning the room in panic, only to realize she was in her own bedroom.

"How are you, Rem?" Ram sat on a chair beside the bed, holding a plate of fruit and a knife, calmly cutting fruits with a straight face.

Rem blinked and whispered, "Nee-sama." Then, with sudden excitement, she added, "The Witch Cultist, he s-said Rem-"

"Cut it out." Ram's voice was like poison; Rem had never seen her sister like this before. "Barusu already proved his innocence. Beatrice-sama and Puck-sama confirmed his words." She appeared composed, but there was an underlying rage palpable in her demeanor. Rem was worried about her sister's newfound determination; it was a side she hadn't seen before.

In Rem's mind, there was turmoil. "But the scent-" However, when she saw her sister's gaze, she trailed off. Ram continued with an understanding yet mocking expression.

"Having the Witch's Scent doesn't make him a Witch Cultist," she said, taking a bite of fruit. "He might be cursed or have encountered the Witch Cult before." These words deepened Rem's vague concerns.

Ram took a deep breath, and the room's atmosphere mingled with Rem's internal turmoil. "If he were truly guilty, he would have attacked you when you were vulnerable, but he didn't," she stated. There was a strange expression in her eyes, as if she had repeated these words many times before, but Rem didn't notice her sister's emotional moment. She concluded, "Ram is disappointed," deepening the tension in the silence that enveloped them.

Rem couldn't find words to say, "But Rem..." She was so convinced that Subaru was a Witch Cultist, but now, she was realizing she was wrong. She lowered her head, feeling engulfed in internal questioning.

Breaking the silence, Ram sat beside Rem. Gently stroking her head, she murmured, "Roswaal-sama found out." These words intensified Rem's inner worry. Roswaal's knowledge shattered Rem's fragile world.

Rem knew her life was ruined. Roswaal would kick her out, or worse, she could end up in prison if Subaru complained. Tears rolled down her eyes; just like in her village, she had ruined everything again. In the midst of the internal storm, facing past mistakes was shaking Rem to the core.

Ram, in a calm voice, said, "Rem has been forgiven." These words deepened Rem's complex emotions. Her eyes widened in astonishment, as if she couldn't believe the news. Had Subaru forgiven her? Rem still stared at her sister, struggling to digest this reality.

Ram, with a gentle smile in response to Rem's bewildered gaze, continued to stroke her sister's hair. "Ram was surprised at first," she said, pulling Rem closer. "I don't know why, but he forgave you. He spoke to Roswaal-sama and wanted this incident to quietly close," she added.

While Rem tried to comprehend her sister's explanations, the tense air in the room slowly dissipated. However, she still had many questions in her mind, and accepting these answers would take time. "But why?" Rem asked, a hint of apprehension in her voice. "Rem almost killed him; why did he forgive Rem?"

Ram rolled her eyes slightly, "Ram doesn't have a clear answer on that," she said. She carefully chose her words to deal with Rem's surprise and uncertainty. Understanding her sister's explanations was crucial to soothing Rem's complicated emotions.

Rem tried to come to terms with this explanation, but she was still grappling with her internal conflicts. "What about Roswaal-sama's thoughts?" she asked, with a worried expression. Roswaal's thoughts were like a compass in the midst of this chaos; they could veer in any direction at any moment.

After a moment of thought, Ram replied, "Roswaal-sama wants this incident to close." "He was initially inclined towards punishment, but Subaru insisted on you not facing any punishment," she explained. Rem struggled to understand Roswaal's decision; however, along with Subaru's insistence, she felt lost in an unexpected forgiveness.

"It's hard to understand him," Ram spoke as if delving into her own inner world, her eyes seeming lost in the distance. When Rem heard these words from her sister, she wondered what complexities were occurring in Ram's internal thought world.

Despite being surprised by her sister's tone, Ram's comments about Subaru further intrigued Rem. It was as if Ram had delved into Subaru's depths and understood his internal fears. This situation both surprised Rem and made her ponder.

"Yes," Rem murmured with a simple response. In the current atmosphere, she wanted to respect her sister's internal thoughts.

Ram continued, "Still, it's strange for someone like him to have ordinary fears." When Rem heard this sentence, she wanted more information, but Ram's words suddenly stopped. Perhaps she had started to ponder what she said or didn't want to share more. Ram immersed herself in her own thoughts in the silence.

With a quiet sigh, Ram continued, "Subaru may be strong, but seeing how much he values even the simplest good feelings surprised me." Speaking as if she was talking to her inner voice, she whispered, "Despite being so complex, there is a purity in his goodness and loyalty. It reminds me of the beauties of human nature."

Ram seemed to hesitate as if she had said something she shouldn't have. Finally, she stood up, saying, "Good night, Rem." Rem looked at her sister's abrupt departure, left in the uncertainty of an unfinished conversation.

In Rem's mind, especially the phrase 'it reminds me of the beauties of human nature' echoed as something incomprehensible. She loved her sister, but Ram's sincere compliment to someone else deeply affected her. She pondered how Subaru had left such an impression on her sister in such a short time. There were many questions in her mind, but finding the answers was equally challenging.

After Ram left the room, she walked through the corridors with silent steps, lost in deep thoughts. When she turned into a dark corner, she muttered to herself, "Doing that once, Barusu, doesn't make you cool." Her eyes focused into the distance.

Subaru, making a cool entrance from the hidden dark spot, said, "If you'd let me do this cool entrance for once." He clasped his hands on his chest and sighed. "Anyway, is Rem still angry?" he asked.

Rolling her eyes, Ram said, "Sorry." A slightly sad atmosphere appeared in her eyes. "Rem listened to everything; she'll start apologizing to you tomorrow," she added. Even though lying to her sister saddened her, she felt compelled to act this way to rectify the situation.

Subaru nodded thoughtfully. "I understand; everything got a bit complicated." He paused for a moment, then added, "I didn't want to hurt Rem; I hope I can reach out to her." Then he looked at Ram, "Hey, why are you furrowing your brows?"

Ram, lost in thought for a moment, then turned her eyes to Subaru. "Ram is just thinking," she said.
