De'Lani's pov "Mama I don't know what to wear" I said as I sat on my mother's bed "Just wear anything Lani it's only gonna be family and few business partners" my mama said
She looked flawless how dare she say just wear anything I rolled my eyes and got up "You're no help" I said as I walked out of her room "We leave in 5 so make it quick" "Mhm" I replied knowing damn well we ain't leaving for another hour or so I went to my room and looked in my closet for something to wear soon I found a dress that was good enough

After i got dress I started on my makeup which was simple but cute once i was done with everything I grabbed my purse and everything I needed and left to meet my parents downstairs "Bout time you came down" I heard my mom say as she opened the door "Bout time you came down" I said mocking her I felt someone hit my head turned around and saw my mama standing there scolding me
"I'm going back home this unfairness" I said walking outside "Chy anyways get in the car" my mama said

I walked around the ballroom looking for someone I knew I was getting bored just standing here not talking to nobody.
I finally gave up and went and got a drink that's when I knew I was stressed the fuck out I stopped drinking heavily a few years ago after the accident I couldn't bare it anymore. Let's just say that scared the shit out of me
But tonight one or two wouldn't hurt after grabbing my drink I went and found a nice seat and sat my ass down as I watched everyone mingle and have fun.
"De'Lani" I heard someone say I turned my head towards the person it was Ataraxia I saw the Children stand behind her and another woman who looked like the world had pissed her off.
Ataraxia made her way towards me I stood up the greet her correctly she gave me a side hug to which I returned surprisingly this interaction didn't feel awkward
We talked for a while the whole time the other who Ataraxia introduced as Esmeray was dead silent I didn't try to force a conversation I know how it is so I wasn't going to.
Soon I saw Princess and excused myself.
Ataraxia pov
"Would you stop!" I said to Esmeray who was know pissing me off "I didn't do anything" "You could have spoken to her" I said "Why should I it's not like she remembers me anyways" "And you think treating her like shit would make it any better?"
"I'm not treating her like shit I just simply didn't say anything" "Look it wasn't her fault you can't sit here and hold her accountable for something that she couldn't control it's not like she made the choice to forget everything"
"And that's the thing she didn't forget everything she still remember her parents and Princess and everybody else except for us and her own damn son so you answer that question for me then once you come up with a reasonable excuse then I'll think about having a conversation with her until then I'm good where I'm at" Esmé before walking away
I sighed the kids saw Santa talking to the other kids and wanted to go over there I walked them over there I don't know half of these people here I'm not comfortable with letting my kids just run around and me not aware of where they're are or whoever they're with.
