"What flavour is your favourite, Youngie?" San asked over his shoulder whilst filtering through the shelves of ice cream, Wooyoung teetering over the bar of the shopping cart they had decided to grab. Mainly due to buying a few more... essentials, for both their cars. Blankets, towels, wipes and what not in order to prepare better for an inevitable next time.
"I'm not fussed, babe. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I like chips and dips and savouries, get whatever you like. I'm just going to head to that aisle, 'kay?" He responded, blowing a kiss to the back of the taller's head.
He hummed and veered to his preferred foods, taking his time to choose wisely. These trips were so much better with someone else, as opposed to doing it alone. There was something so therapeutic about a simple late evening snack trip with someone you enjoyed the company of so dearly.
As he stood staring at the shelves, he snapped to when a caught a figure out the corner of his eye. Seeing a similar colour array of clothing and build of San, he turned his head to the side.
It wasn't San.
Just as his his breath started to constrict in his throat and the guy looked his way with an equally as startled stare, San came up behind him and wrapped his arms around his waist, pecking his oddly flushed cheek and brushing his hair from his face. He hadn't picked up on Wooyoung's distant gaze to a now empty space, the other man having fled the second he saw San approach the shorter.
"You've not even picked anything yet! What are you daydreaming about, sweet boy? Come on, grab whatever you want, let's go. Want to get you in bed and make you jump into my arms from a scary movie." He cheesed, swaying Wooyoung on the spot in his hold.
Play it off. Everything is fine. You never saw him. He wasn't here. San is here. You went through the worst of it with Seungjoon. San can't know what happened. It'll ruin everything you have. This is nothing. Everything is okay.
Wooyoung repeated reassurances in his head like a mantra, successfully putting up a quick front and snapping back to normal. He played into the daydream accusation and grabbed something mindlessly from the shelf, continuing to the check out whilst subtly still checking his surroundings without alerting San.
The two piled back in to the car and Wooyoung's tension eased massively. He could do this. This was right, this was where he was supposed to be. He couldn't avoid his past, but he could control his future. Adamant that absolutely nothing good would ever come from another living soul knowing about the incident, he re-buried it deep down and allowed himself to carry on within the warm and nurturing bubble of recovery with the best thing that had ever happened to him.

"I don't scare easily, so give it your best shot." Wooyoung confidently stated, throwing a chip into the air and catching it, sending a wink to the taller beside him as he scrolled eagerly for something that would make the shorter eat his words. He couldn't help it. He and Wooyoung had a habit of bringing out one another's competitive side in the most fun way.
The two were easily falling into routine of co-sleeping. On the way back, they made a pit-stop to San's, both running in to greet his parents and grab an overnight bag with all uniform necessities and some extras just for casual wear when at the others house.
When they got back, San found himself on the verge of throwing a marriage proposal at Wooyoung as the shorter wordlessly began clearing bits out in his wardrobe and drawers for what he went on to call "San space", neatly folding and hanging up the taller's clothing.
After settling, San hummed satisfyingly as he landed on a highly rated horror, moving to back up against the headboard and sit Wooyoung between his legs to lie flush against his chest. He wrapped him up snugly, arms included, insisting that he would feed the younger. Wooyoung preened on San's acts of service, even if it did leave him immobile and tucked in so tightly he felt his blood circulation cutting off below his neck.
The movie kicked in, both boys jolting at the well-timed jumpscares. Oddly enough, the erratic beating of San's heart pressed against his back worked well to calm Wooyoung. So much that despite the blood curdling screams coming from the TV infront of him (and at times, behind him), he fell asleep to the soothing pattern.
"Oh my God. You traitor. Wooyoung! How could you abandon me to watch this by myself? You, you..." San stopped in his mini-rant to the passed out boy, as his head lulled back fully on his shoulder and he took in his peacefully expressionless face.
"You... beautiful boy. You're forgiven." He finished with a whisper and a curved half-smile, wrapping an arm around his waist to carefully move him around and place the snacks on the floor. He lowered the volume and shamefully changed movies to a kids one, glad the shorter wasn't awake to tease him for his sure-fire hack to sleep well after a scary film.
As usual, wherever San shifted into position in bed, Wooyoung would follow, awake or not. He wriggled down with the shorter still between his legs, and Wooyoung automatically partially rolled out of his embrace to fit into his side instead, one arm and one leg fastening him to the taller. Shortly after, he joined him in sleep, excited to see what week two would bestow upon them both.

The two awoke early enough to sneak in some peaceful time for morning cuddles and kisses, discussing their day ahead. After showering and having breakfast with Wooyoung's parents, they set off to pick up Hwa seeing as San wasn't able to do so as usual and Wooyoung had offered immediately.
"This is a nice change! I might switch chauffeurs, Sannie. Don't take it personally, I'd just much rather start my day with Youngie than you." Hwa gleefully said as he threw himself into Wooyoung's car, hugging the shorter from behind and teasing the boy beside him.
After a long and tedious discussion between he, Yunho and Mingi the day before, the three had settled on doing what they thought best in regards to Wooyoung. Simply being there for him, no matter what. Whether it came to light, or not. It was absolutely not their story to tell, or know of in the first place. The guilt of confiding in others ate at Hwa regardless, but Yunho had reassured him that it was simply too big of an issue to keep to himself and that it would've done more harm than good to bottle up.
Seeing Wooyoung thrive in his new lease on life, his sweet relationship with San and new genuine friends had provided the group with a very protective instinct. His traumatic past was his own, and however he saw fit to handle things was his own too. He would always have their support through it all, no questions asked.
