Twenty One

"My god a 5 and 2 year old are hard work!" Kate said smirking as she came out the main house of the estate in the south of France beside her best friend. The pair had a glass of wine each and had been giggling since the arrival of the Henderson's earlier that day. "You're telling me. I had two under three, how mad was I!" Holly said as they found a bistro table and sat down. Jack ran past covered in mud. "What on earth!!" Holly asked. "Where's your father and Jamie!?!" "They took the four wheelers to the vineyard." Kate nodded before Holly rolled her eyes. "My husband ladies and gents, could have anyone to do anything for him but instead opts for a four wheeler to go and spend obscene amounts of money on wine." Kate smirked "If it's what he loves though.." Holly smiled before calling after Jack "Are you packed for Paris? Your mother will have my head if you don't pack that suit for the dinner on Friday." Jack nodded and rushed into the house.

"So how's things?" Kate asked her friend sincerely. "They are ok." Kate raised her eyebrows. "Seriously I'm good." Holly added. "I mean the headlines were over 6 weeks ago.." "Holly, I'm worried about you though.." "don't be, honest I really am ok.." "and if you can't have another baby?" "Then so be it. I am so lucky to have four beautiful children to dote on aren't I?" Kate nodded sincerely before raising her glass "Here's to that." The girls smiled and clinked their glasses together.

Meanwhile in the midst of the vineyards, Johnny had pulled over at a clearing. "God it's fucking beautiful here." Jamie said stopping beside him and wiping his brow. "That it is. I'm very lucky." Johnny responded continuing to look out at the view. "John? You ok?" Jamie asked reaching out and touching the man's shoulder. "Look I know we've not spent a whole lot of time together since the headlines but you've got to know, neither Kate or I believed them, and that goes for the others too, Max was only saying the other day what fuckers they are." Johnny turned and smiled at the guy who had fast become a very good friend of his. "It's not that.. but thanks I appreciate it. Man to man?" Johnny said seriously and Jamie nodded. "When you were trying for Jessie.. did it take you guys long?" "Umm, a while, a few months maybe. To be honest, Kate did all the calculations I just performed when needed... why?" "I can't get out of my own head. Holly so desperately wants another baby, and I do too, trust me I'm not getting any younger, and I want it to happen before I hit the big 50 you know? Not for my sake but for the kiddies you know? I wanna be around for them, not be some senile old man." Jamie nodded. "So it's not working?" "Well it's not happened yet.. I guess we haven't been trying that long. It's just with the other two we didn't even think about it you know?" "I know.. but that's very fortunate. It doesn't happen for many like that." Johnny nodded before nudging the guy with his elbow, "sorry for getting deep brother." "Not at all. I'm happy to be here for you.. god knows you've been there enough for me." "Ha.. I only helped you prepare for a baby girl.. trust me I was talking from experience." Jamie smirked. "Well let's hope you can put your good advice to use again soon hey? Now didn't you promise me the best bottle of wine France could offer??" Johnny smirked, lit a cigarette and kick started his four wheeler once more.

Later that night, The four adults were sat out under the stars with Lily-Rose and Jack. They were all laughing together and reminiscing. "Oh please.. you so did not act cool!!" Kate said looking at her best friend, "I did too! It was you lot getting all hyped up." "Ummm how many times does a girl we know get invited to live at Johnny Depp's house??" "The door had been broken down Kate!" Holly giggled sipping her wine, "I knew as soon as she made me grilled cheese I would love her." Jack smirked making Holly smile. "You were just a boy. My little bud.. now look at you.. you're a man." "And what am I a bowl of chilli?" Lily giggled. "Oh no, you were little miss independent from day one. A fine young lady but yes you've grown into a beautiful woman.." Lily cuddled into Holly before Jamie turned to Johnny. "I still remember meeting you at the gala and thinking poor fucker, it's hard enough getting a word in with the Walton clan but being you as well. You handled it like a trooper." Johnny shrugged. "They are amazing folk.. I felt right at home." "I'll say.." Kate smirked knowing the gossip of her best friend's relationship. "I'll miss you guys when you're back in America." Kate added quietly. "Hey I'm only a phone call away and besides we've done it loads now. You're welcome whenever you know that." Holly said sincerely. "Besides... I need you in London keeping an eye on madam here in fashion week. She's staying at the house alone..." Kate winked at Lily "House party!?" "Absolutely fucking not!!" Johnny said almost spitting his wine out. "I'll stay in charge don't you worry." Jamie smirked handing a cigar to Johnny. "I can't believe they are all asleep." Holly smiled at Kate. "I know... a cute little sleepover. I love how Pippa shared her bed with Jessie. They are gonna be besties for life like us aren't they." "Thick as thieves." Holly giggled. "God help us then!!" Jamie gestured to between him and Johnny making the latter chuckle. "As long as your son keeps his paws off my little Lottie we will be grand." Johnny said lighting his cigar. "She's already promised me she won't date until she's 30." "Yeah right Dad!!" Lily giggled grabbing her drink and muttering "You live in a dream world!"
