I was sitting in my car, in the parking lot of raising canes, trying to call Samaj.

After the first few rings I finally got an answer, but instead of it being him to answer it was Jaleyah.

"Hi Leyah" i said to her, and she replied back with "Hi Sy-sy" she's just too cute.

"Where's your daddy?" I asked her.

"He in bathroom" she told me

"Alright...well how have you been?"

"Good! Daddy get me candy" she said giggling and showing me her bag of gummy worms.

"He did? That's gre-" "Who are talking, little girl" A familiar voice cut me off

"Sy-sy" she said before Samaj took the phone out of her hands

"Wassup?" he greeted me

"Nothing, just tryna see what yo fine ass up too" I said, making mug me then him smile

"Just chilling really, Leyah wanted to have a little movie night so I was just about to go get the stuff for that" he told me

"I could swing by the store and grab the stuff for you and join y'all if you don't mind. Or is it like a daddy daughter type thing?" I replied,

I would totally understand if it was meant for it to be just for them two. I just wanted to see my man.

He hesitated a little bit before replying "Nahh, that's cool you can come over. I'll send you the money for the stuff"

"No. don't worry about it, it's all good, I got it just send me the list of stuff." I told him

He didn't argue back with me and just sent me the list of stuff, soon after we ended the call so he could give Leyah a bath and told me he'd call me back once he's done.

Just my luck Walmart is right across the street from canes. With that being the case it didn't take long for me to get over there and get in the store.

Once I got in, I got a basket. I went straight to the candy aisle and got some gummy worms, skittles and m&ms, the big shareable bags so it'll be enough for all of us.

Then I went to go get the popcorn and drinks. I also got some personal stuff that I needed while I was here

After I got everything I made my way to the checkout line.

As I was waiting in line I felt my phone start ringing in my pocket, pulled it out seeing it was Samaj making me start smiling

"Gimmie sec" he said as soon as the phone connected.

It was my turn in line, so I started putting my stuff up on the conveyor belt, so the cashier could ring my stuff up.

" I'm back. That child was yelling at me cause she didn't want to take a bath...like who the fuck does she think I am. Anyway, you still at the grocery store?" He said as he moved his face back into the camera.

"Yeah, I'm in the check out line, had to pick up a few extra things" I told him

"Oh alright...you sure you don't want me to pay?" He asked

"Yeah Samaj, I'm sure. I got it" I told him

"Okay sir, your total will be 45.97. would that be cash or card?" the cashier told me.

"Card" "alright...go ahead insert your card."

After I inserted my card, I looked back down at my phone to see Samaj focused on his tv. Damn he fine

"I love your sweater," I heard the cashier say as I took my card out.

He was looking at me weird...

"Oh, thank so much" I told him

"Of course, have a nice day" he said, as he bit his lip and gave me my receipt.

Oh...ohhhh. That's why he was looking at me like that. I just gave him a smile and left.

When I got to my car, I packed all my groceries in my trunk then hopped in the driver's seat.

I look down at my phone to see Samaj with an irritated look on his face, but is still looking at the tv.

"Maj, you good?" I asked him

"Mhm." Is all he said. "You sure cause you look mad as hell" I replied back

He turned his face towards the phone mugging me.

"Nigga i just said I was good. So why the fuck would you ask me again?"

This nigga tripping.

"Who the the fuck you talking to Samaj? Ain't nobody did shit to you, but ask if you were okay. Calm yo ass down" I told him, he was tripping

"What the fu- you know my fault I am on so weird shit." he said nonchalantly, before looking back at the tv

I don't know what his problem is, but he needs to handle his attitude before I do.

After that we stayed on the phone,my whole drive to his house, but it was nothing but silence.

Once i arrived I grabbed I grabbed the bags out of the trunk, and headed up to his apartment

Once I reached his door I knocked on it, waiting for it to open.

"Who is it?" I heard "Syris". And with that the door opened up, revealing Samaj even though he was in sweatpants and a random t-shirt this nigga still looked good as fuck.

"Wassup" I greeted him as I walked into his apartment. His place was nice, fully furnished with and couple of toys on the ground.

"Sup" he closed the door behind me as went to put the bags on his counter.

He grabbed the stuff out of the bags,and started putting the stuff up, not saying a thing to me.

After he was done, I decided to speak.

"Samaj, did I do something or did something happen cause we we're good one second and then the next we weren't?" I spoke

"I know and I'm...sorry I just started tripping, and I don't know why. You ain't do shit" he said not looking at me

"Maj, you do know just tell me what i did so i can apologize for it" i told him walking over to him and grabbing his hand.

"I guess, I was irritated about how friendly yo ass was being with that cashier...and it' weird"

I know why, my baby is feeling me.

I slightly smirked before replying "so...you're saying that you were jeal-" before I could finish i was cut off by hearing little steps coming towards the kitchen, and a high pitch voice

"Hi sy-sy" "Hi leyah" replied back to her

"Uh come on, let's go set the stuff up for our movie tonight" he said as he grabbed his daughter's hand and walked out of the kitchen leaving me there by myself.

Damn I really wanted to finish our conversation.

srry it took a while to get the next chapter out, but basketball is whopping my ass right now. this is really js a filler kinda basic but wtv.
