It was now morning, when she was awakened by her main maid named Aurora as she gets changed into a deep blue color as peaches was asleep on her bed as she had a blue collar on as Ester finished her changing, she had taken one step out when hyacinth came rushing infront of her, making her stop immediately as to not crash into hyacinth, "sister!! Daphne is too be married to the duke!! Isn't it exciting?!" Hyacinth exclaims in wonder as her brows shoot up in shock, "oh my, that's a surprise" she says as she has a hand over her mouth in shock
They were walking down the stairs— all of them with exception of their brothers, "how does it feel sister, to be in love?" Hyacinth asks daphne
"Imagine leaping off and shattering on the ground. A fair analogy?" Eloise asks Daphne— making Ester look down at her twin with a sigh as she held peaches in her arms
"I am afraid i cannot find the words dear hyacinth. Though Eloise, i believe you will know what love feels like soon enough next season" Daphne retorts to Eloise, "you think i am to follow in your footsteps like Ester is? Can there be a more dreadful fate" Eloise complains, making Ester's lips pull down though she stays quiet as she walks next to her mama who was fanning herself as daphne stops in her steps
"You do know that i am setting the standard for your future matches, yes? You should be grateful" daphne complains as she stands as rose fixes her hair up a bit, "the only thing i am grateful for is that i am not you, nor will i ever be" Eloise bites back, "miss Daphne, his royal highness prince Friedrich is here for you" one of the servants tells daphne
As the servants were, all extremely busy with the wedding that was going to be in some few days, and Ester couldn't help but feel excited for the day that she may be going down the aisle next year— actually, she plans too— even if it wasn't for the sake of love, she just wanted a house with children and a husband who at the very least treated her with care.
That is what she hoped for— which was something her twin can't seem to understand, they've had many fights because of it— which is a reason for what happened on that day. But of course— she didn't like thinking about it
Now— as another day went away, was another day closer to her sister of marrying the duke, and as she lays in her bed fast asleep, peaches was at the foot of her bed as for a while now— peaches had been acting odd, like she was starting to drift away, and the feeling that her pet had been acting strange, it makes her eyes open as she sits up and her eyes go over to her dog as she moves over to peaches
"Peaches... are you alright?" She asks in worry as she places a hand on her dog, who just moved its head away from her hand, and her eyes trace over peaches face that had much more white fur than when her papa got her when she was young, and as she takes her hand back she looks around her dear pet as she goes and takes her hand as she places it on her pets head as she rubs its head as she extends her arms as she takes her pet and place peaches in her arms as she felt her eyes glass over as she sucks in a breath through her nose as she pets her, making peaches lift her head at her as she gives her dear peaches a warm smile as she held her pet in her hands as soon tears steam down her face as she didn't want to loose one of the last things she has of her papa
It was the day, of the wedding— and as daphne walks down the aisle with Anthony walking her down, the duke— or Simon now as he would now be family, had his eyes on her, and after the archbishop does the normal speech— time passed by and they were now having the ceremony after the wedding, and as Ester held peaches in her arms, she was in the corner as she looks down at peaches as she had a warm smile as she rubs her dogs ears before looking back up at any men that were there that were there, hoping to see if there was any men that would catch her eye for next season when she would become a debutante— which was something she was excited for, something that cannot be said for her twin
She looks back down at peaches, "do you see anyone that seems suitable?" She asks peaches, who was silent as peaches eyes flutter close, making her smile turn sad as she looks at peaches, who was still breathing— though she had been sleeping more, making her more worried by the day as her hand brushes through her pets fur, the fur that she would be able to warm her up and rid of the tears when her papa passed away, the fur that she was so used too.
Meanwhile, a tall dark haired man who was tan looked at a pocket watch before his eyes moved around the room before they landed on her in a corner, holding her dog. His eyes left as he nodded goodbye to Simon and Daphne, "congratulations on your marriage, Lady Hastings, Lord Hastings." He bids as he turns and leaves the after party early.
And soon enough, the carriage for daphne was pulled up as the guests were all gone by then, and they all walk out of their home, "perhaps i can come with you, i've always wanted to live in a castle" Gregory tells daphne as she held his hand
"If daphne is going to take anyone with her Gregory, it will be me" hyacinth argues back as she too held Daphne's hand, "if the two of you are staying here until our dear sister allows us a visit" Colin complains, "you mean if she allows us a visit" Benedict corrects, "i'm sure you'll enjoy the peace and quiet— oh, and please make sure you write back dear sister" Ester tells daphne as she pushes past her two older brothers as she had a warm smile and in her arms was peaches, though she gives her sister a side hug before her two brothers give her a hug as well
"I am going to miss all of you terribly" daphne tells them, "even me?" Anthony asks, "even you" daphne says as she and him give a hug, "i have a present for you, it is upstairs, made of four walls and a very comfortable bed" daphne tells eloise
"I suppose the light in your room is quite pleasant" eloise tells daphne "i know we could not be any more different, but there is one thing we do share, the certainty that you will make your own way in this world. I'm sure of it eloise" daphne says as then eloise gives her a hug and after they separate from the hug, daphne turns towards Ester
"And i have a present for you, it's in your room and its a box of my jewelry that i dont need, i hope you'll enjoy it" Daphne says as she smiles, making Ester smile in glee, "thank you sister, and i shall" she says as she and daphne hug again before daphne goes to the carriage before their mama gives daphne a hug as Ester goes and stands with the rest of her siblings
"Write to me as soon as you arrive" their mama tells daphne, "of course mama" daphne responds before pulling away, "you are going to be a wonderful duchess" their mama tells daphne, who gives her a tearful smile before giving it to the rest of them before the footman opens the carriage door and Simon helps her in, and after Simon gets in, their carriage departs as they watch it leave
