As Ester finishes her, letter back to Francesca— who was still out of London where she was learning piano forte by their aunt, the two were most the closest of the bunch, even Eloise and her weren't as close compared to Francesca and her— most likely because Eloise and Ester have their difference perspectives regarding when it comes to the prospect of marriage

After such she closes the letter to go and take it too her footsman to get it sent to Francesca— which was a usual occurrence since Francesca had departed, when she went to get out, Daphne brushes pass her in tears, making her turn her head as she had widened eyes as she went over to Daphne's door that was slamed close

"Daphne?" She calls in worry, "leave me be Ester" daphne calls out tearfully from what Ester can only suspect from her voice, Ester's lips pull down from her sister's reaction, "daphne... if that's— if that's what you wish" she tells daphne as her lips were pulled down, before turning and going down the stairs as she hands the letter off to her footman, though she couldn't help but feel saddened by how her sister was basically on the verge of tears

A few days passed, and since then— daphne was the talk of the ton, since apparently she was able to swoon the prince, making hyacinth infatuated and asking many questions to Daphne about what would happen when daphne and the prince might marry, if they do even marry, much less be engaged., anyways— as of now, she was in the drawing room as she plays the piano forte while her mama listens, as she plays— her mama was drinking some tea as she had a warm smile on her face as she finishes the song by Mozart

"What do you think mama?" She asks as she turns her head over towards her mama, "it was lovely my dear" her mama compliments, making her smile widen

As daphne plays the, piano with the rest of them all there with exception of Anthony who was at the gentlemen's club, their mama was standing near the piano that daphne was playing at, hyacinth was snacking on the treats, Colin and Gregory were play boxing, Benedict was sitting as he was doing some art, Eloise was writing something, and Ester was reading some poetry as she had her other hand petting peaches

"Your brother took you where?" Their mama asks daphne— a few hours ago, she and Anthony went to some boxing match— which was a place for no ladies to go— from what's been ingrained into many

"He kept close watch the entire time, mama" Daphne responds as she kept her gaze focused on the piano keys before her as hyacinth stands near the piano, "it does not matter. A boxing exhibition is no place for any young lady" their mama tells daphne

"Is it a place for a prince? Was he at today's match, sister?" Hyacinth asks in interest, after all— she's been focused on the fact that daphne could marry a prince, "he certainly was" daphne answers hyacinths question, "it is a loathsome and barbarous form of entertainment" their mama says, "what about the duke?" Hyacinth asks, "what about the duke?" Daphne and their mama say together as daphne stops playing, hyacinth was a perplexed, Ester lifts her head to look at them with some confusion, "was he also present?" Hyacinth asks, "i do not know, if the duke was there, i did not see him" daphne says as she returns to playing as Ester goes back to her reading

As eloise looks up at the maid and Mrs. Willson before going back to her writing, "what are you writing?" Hyacinth asks as she was infront of Eloise now, "nothing" eloise says quickly as she closes her journal before clearing her throat, Ester looks over at Eloise, "you sit about writing nothing all day long" hyacinth complains, "very well, i am telling Francesca about what an officious little busybody you are" Eloise scoffs, making hyacinth chuckle ironically before walking away, and Eloise lays back as she and Ester exchange looks, before Ester decides to look down at the poetry

Anthony enters the room, returning from the gentlemen's club, Ester lifts her head to look at him, "mother, daph" He greets as he approaches them, elora watches it, "did you truly take your sister to a boxing match?" Their mama asks her son

"Your admonishment will have to wait. I have news. Prince friedrich has asked for my permission to propose" Anthony says, and daphne immediately stops playing— the information made Ester's brows raise in surprise

"So soon?" Daphne asks in shock, "well, what did you tell him?" Their mama asks, "that i know better than to answer for my sister. I have no objections to the man, people speak well of him. Whatever you decide, daph, you shall have my support" Anthony tells daphne, who looks at her mama, "... i— uh... i..." daphne stutters as she couldn't make a decision, "you need not decide now. You have not known him long" their mama tells daphne, "let me know when you have an answer and i shall convey it" Anthony tells daphne, "indeed" she responds

As Ester was in, her room as she had her blue colored shall wrapped around her as she writes yet another letter to Francesca, who should return in a few days time

As she writes she looks out the window as the dark skies have the light flood in her room, before she decides to get up for a cup of milk as she leaves her room as she goes down to the kitchen, there was no one there— and now she was standing as she had a cup of milk as she looks at the stove, "i suppose i'll just have some cold milk then" she clears her throat as she decides to drink the cold milk as she remembers the times that she would sneak downstairs to the kitchen to have some milk with Francesca or with her brother Colin

As she drinks the milk she finishes it as she goes and places it to where the rest of the dirty dishes should be at from what she's seen before, and as she turns and leaves— she pulls her shawl closer to her as she departs from the kitchen as she felt a chill— she had it as close as she could, even more so than she could ever think

This was a occurrence every once and a while for a long time, ever since that day in the winter.. though that's a story for another time— afterall she didn't like having to remember that, she didn't like remembering much pain— like when her papa passed away she had pushed away the pain, infact she still didn't like the remembrance, and when it came around the day that he passed away, she would lock herself in her room and stay there the entire day.. but that's a thought for another time as she was now back in her room, and she closes the door behind her as she lets a breath out before heading into her bed as she slips under the covers as she has her eyes flutter close
