It seemed that you didn't even get the chance to knock on the door of your new friend's house before she opened the door.

You had only made it up the steps of the porch and raised your hand before she was standing there in front of you as if she'd been watching and waiting for you.

"Hi, Y/N!" She excitedly greeted you.

"Hey," You said with a kind smile.

"Come in!"

You nodded and stepped inside her house before turning around to see her looking around outside.

"Taylor didn't tag along with you today?"

"No, she had a few things to get done. Besides, I told you it would be just me." You spoke, eyebrows furrowing as she closed the door.

"I know. I was just making sure."

Her response made you feel a little uncomfortable but you didn't want to say so because you knew she needed a shoulder to lean on and you're not turning your back on someone who needs a friend.

"Sit, sit!" She said.

"Okay." You replied before sitting on her couch.

"Thank you again for coming over." She said as she stared at you, her teeth sinking into her teeth slightly.

"What are friends for?"

"Yeah, that's true. But after last night with your girlfriend being so jealous, I had my doubts you'd come."

"Oh, don't worry about that. Tay and I talked and she trusts me, just like I trust her. We worked things out, we always do. She can't stay mad at me for very long, she loves me too much." You giggled.

"Right." She replied. "She's very lucky."

You were about to reply when you felt her hand brush against your thigh.

Her unwanted touch made a look of confusion and disbelief appear on your face before you pushed her hand away.

"Don't do that." You said.

"I can't help myself. You're just so... pretty."

"Did I mention I'm taken? Because I'm pretty sure I have several times." You said as you folded your arms over your chest. "I'm here to be your friend. I'm here because you opened up to me about problems at work and with other things. I'm trying to be nice."

"Come on, Y/N. You don't have to pretend." She spoke as she reached out to tuck a lock of hair behind your ear, only for you to push her hand away again. "Taylor isn't around. You don't have to worry about anything. I won't tell her that you feel the same way I do."

She closed her eyes and began to lean in as if she was going to kiss you.

You scoffed and stood up to quickly dodge her kiss.

"Stop it!" You yelled. "You are crossing so many lines right now. I told you - I am taken and happily at that! I'm not interested in you. Whatever you feel for me isn't mutual."

She looked at the floor, avoiding your gaze.

"You know what? I should go." You said. "I can't do this. I am in love with my girlfriend and I am not interested in anyone else, especially not you."

"wait, but you said you'd be here for me!" She yelled as she followed you out the door.

"Not anymore. Not since you tried to make a move on me while knowing that I'm in a very serious and happy relationship. Find someone else to be your friend!"

You got into your car and quickly drove away as she stood there in disbelief, as if she thought there was even a slim chance of you returning her feelings when, in reality, there wasn't.

Arriving home a few minutes later, you got out of the car and stormed into your' and Taylor's shared home.

She was sitting on the sofa with a pad of paper in her hands as she wrote some lyrics down but the sound of you slamming the front door startled her.

"Whoa," She said before standing up. "Someone's upset. What's going on?"

You sighed as you kicked off your shoes and met her worried blue eyes.

"You were right." You quietly replied. "She tried to make a move on me."

Taylor clenched her jaw before reaching for her keys.

"No, Tay, don't." You said as you hugged her from behind.

"She knows you're taken and she still tried to make a move on you? On my girl? That's not okay with me!"

"It's not okay with me either and I made that very clear." You said as she turned to face you. "Trust me, Tay. I made it clear that I want nothing to do with her anymore and that I didn't feel the same way she did."

"Did she kiss you?" She asked, her jaw still clenched from jealousy.

"She tried but I didn't let her. I moved out of the way before she could. I wasn't about to let her kiss me."

Taylor sighed as you pulled her closer to you.

"I'm sorry I didn't listen. I was just trying to be her friend."

"You have a big heart." She said as she cupped your cheek in her hand. "A very big and beautiful heart. It's in your nature to want to be good to people but sometimes, people don't have good intentions, as much as you want to believe it. Trust me, baby. I've learned that firsthand."

You nodded.

"I know."

"Thank you for telling me and not hiding this from me." She said as a smile pulled at her lips. "You are an amazing girlfriend."

"So are you, Tay," You said before kissing her softly. "That's why I shut that down so quickly. I love you. Your lips are the only lips I want on mine. Your hand is the only one I want to hold. You're the only one I'm in love with."

She pulled you in for another kiss and she couldn't help but smile against your lips.

"I feel the same way about you, my love. I'm in love with you too."

You smiled brightly before hugging her tight and you couldn't help but melt as she wrapped her warm arms around you.

"But so help me if I run into that girl, I'm going to kick her ass."

You laughed before shrugging your shoulders.

"Okay."

Taylor giggled before kissing you again, both of you so in love and so happy with each other, and no one would ever change that.
