"So then Henry jumped off the roof and your uncle came running out being like 'your lucky you have a game this weekend or I'd kick your ass and make your little friends watch.' Which I don't know if you know but jack is the last person I'd want to fight." I think this is the fifth story Luke has told me and most of them occurs of Henry doing something stupid and Christina or jack getting mad at him. But I don't mind by the way Luke talking about them it seems he really cares for Henry and his family. Even Zach and Mason they seemed nice. They picked us up after Henry and I snuck out of the house. Which seemed a lot easier then back home, I used to just walk out the door but here you have to sneak out the window. Zach was driving and Mason sat in the passenger and that left Luke, Henry and I in the back. I guess mr. Grumpy pants Doesn't come to parties. We pull up in front of a nice house and Zach parked the car in the last available spot. He turns off the car and almost simultaneously they all turn towards me. "Have you been to a party before? It seems to be a thing so don't take anyone drink you don't know."
Mason looks at Zach as if he grow a second head. "There's 40 kids in there max and there all people we've known since kindergarten. I doubt any of them are going to spike her."
Zach through his hands in the air and turned back around. I pulled out my phone and checked my lip gloss to make sure it hadn't smudge on the car ride over. "It's fine, this isn't my first party" I slip my phone back into my bag "or my last."
We all get out of the car and Henry gave me a one over. "You couldn't have put on a longer dress?"
I look down at my black body con dress that went to my mid thigh and back at them. "This is the longest dress I think I own." Was it that short? It was pretty average in the Toronto party scene.
Luke rolled his eyes and wrapped an arm around me "it's fine, you look beautiful." We start to walk forward and Luke turned his head back to the boys. "but maybe we'll keep her way from Alex tho." All the guys mumble an agreement and we kept moving forward. I do hear Henry telling Zach and Mason to stop staring at me.
We walk in the door into the house. It was smaller then I thought, they were right there were maybe 40 people here. "Who else is coming to this thing?"
Henry grabs my shoulders and leans in "we have about 29 kids in our graduating class and the rest are other kids. Like homeschoolers and younger kids."
Zach nudges my shoulder and gives me a small smile "we'll 30 now." 30 kids. A class of 30. I'm going to die here.
"I-I need a drink or something. Do they do that here or was I supposed to bring something?" God I hope not. I just need a drink.
"No the first party of the year we all bring leftover drinks from the summer and it's a free for all but the later in the night the worst the drinks get." Luke hands me a large bag and points down the hallway. "The kitchen is down that way, would you bring this in there for us and you can grab a drink."
I don't have to be told twice. I move down the hallway towards a dark oak kitchen. On the island in the middle is riddled with different drink opinions. Most were half empty bottles of vodka, some sour puss, cans of coolers and some boxes of beers. We'll at least I have options but who in the hell is drinking sour puss straight, that's just nasty. I grab one of the empty cups on the counter and start filling it with some vodka. I take a sip and feel the familiar sting going down my throat. I move through a different hallway into a living room with a couple of kids chatting to each other. I keep moving hoping not to attract any attention towards myself but before I can I feel someone call for me. "Hey you" I turn around and a girl with big blue eyes and long blonde hair is staring at me. "Ya you. Who are you? And what are you doing in my house?"
