Jim watched as I daintly stitched his forearm.
"That was easy.." he said smiling making me laugh.
"You're very funny." I said between giggles then I got serious again,
"This might hurt since its in a larger area of movement."
"Nope, I'm a tough cookie. I'll be Ok." Jim said when I smiled threading the needle.
I carefully started the first stitch when I could tell he was tensing up.
"Relax, it's nothing but a two layered cut that needs stitches Jimmy." I said when his expression gave it away.
"Its not that Millie." Jim assured me, "Its something else."
"What then?" I asked.
"Its Charlie." Jim answered.
"Charlie who?" I wondered.
"Burnside, Charlie Burnside." Jim repeated.
"What'd he do?" I asked him.
"It just burns me up. He used excessive force on a suspect the other day and talked his way out of it. Mac says they'll keep an eye on him but I think now he knows I saw him he'll probably act all innocent the next few days." Jim explained angry.
"I'll see if I can pass it along to my father." I suggested hoping my plan would work.
"That'd be great." Jim smiled.
I got back to stitching while he watched me. The cut was a bit longer than I thought. I placed a bandage over the stitches and wrapped the one on his forearm so it would stay.
"That ought to hold the bandage on your arm for a while." I said grinning. "Thanks." Jim said.
