Tough Love (Junko, Yamanaga, and Mephiles)

Junko: Ever since I was a girl, my own mind vowed
I must find the way to power through a noble brow
I loved Muksy at first, then my senses came
I must work for the stature of my own name

Onto plan number two, I knew what I had to do
And my poor sister fell ill in a year or two
Solved problem number one, now to problem number two
Her doe-eyed little A.I with gentle point of view

Yamanaga: Gentle? I like that word, Enoshima!

Junko: Let me finish! Would I ship her off to school? No! I told her if she stayed
That she'd have to earn her keep and so she became my sidekick

Tsumugi: She was lazy
She was crazy
She was talking to a rabbit!

Junko: She was hopelessly naive, so she had to pay the price

I moved her to the attic out of sight and out of mind
I could have thrown her out, but I'm benevolent and kind

Tsumugi: Junko, your heart's too big for you!

Junko: I knew what I had to do! After all, difficult children will take advantage of your good nature! So you lock them up; throw away the key
There's one on every family tree

Tsumugi: Ungrateful!
Hateful!
Vile too!
The things she put you through!

Junko: Break their spirit so they obey
Now they'll do anything you say
Maybe you'd call it cruel but
Others would call it love
Tough love! I ask you, is it a crime to strive for perfection in all things?

Yamanaga: Oh no, they're so cute when they're little but then they grow up and just ruin everything... I never wanted children, life was better on my own
All the screaming, nagging chilled me to the bone
But then one day, I learned that I could sell little kids!
It kept me nice and rich, so that's exactly what I did!

But one day, I went to travel, and I found such a poor soul!
So I "borrowed" him, locked him up and hid him in my house
Years went by, oh, the sacrifice!
And against my better judgment, I "fed" him once or twice

Teenagers now I know are wild, go run free
But that's messy; traumatizing's easily more fun
A little kiss, a lot of pain, of course you have to lie
Remind them "tell this secret, they are for sure to die!"

They only have themselves to blame
If you'd been there, you'd do the same!

So work them hard 'til they fall in line
There's one way and it's only mine

Kosuke: Children are lazy!

Shintaro: Spoiled too!

All Three: But we know what to do!

Kosuke: Govern them with a heart of stone!

Shintaro: Lock them up so their all alone!

Yamanaga: Maybe you'd call it cruel, but

All Three: Others would call it love
Tough Love

Yamanaga: Ugh, his own house with a water view and he runs away, the first change he gets!

Mephiles: These wretched brats think the world owes them something, but it doesn't! Far and wide I rule the kingdom with a heavy hand
But there was more, I had in mind a greater plan
I never cared to share, so my sister would have to fall
But her child blocked the way to me and "Fairest of them all"

He was chubby, he was dumb and grotesquely optimistic
He need structure in her life; he wasn't realistic
I gave him chores and took away the things that she'd enjoy
But then I caught him singing songs with his sister and then a boy

Love? Was I just sit by and wait?
For him to take my crown? No! He had sealed his fate
He had to go, and so he did and you know what they say:
"Some power once a day keeps your enemies away"

Don't be fooled by their tender smile

Junko: Give an inch

All: And they'll run a miiiiiiile!

Our idea for a happy home
Is one where we live all alone

Yamanaga: Dark!

Junko: Depressing!

Mephiles: Desolate!

All: Now let's all drink to that!

Kosuke, Shintaro, and Tsumugi: Call us wicked and call us mean

Yamanaga: Cruel and everything in between!

Junko: You can say it's unjust!

Mephiles: Turning their dreams to dust!

All: This is what we call love, tough love!
