~Alexis's pov~
I saw Harry signaling Charles to take me back to my room after he assured me about the timings for our departure.
I gave Harry a gentle nod as I walked with Charles to the elevator but on a glance back, I saw him leave the hotel. I wonder what he's up to.
Charles dropped me to my room and I don't think he stopped guarding my room from outside. I washed my face in the bathroom after barfing out everything that I just ate and gathered up my thoughts.
Harry seems nice and I mean he's the son of the mafia boss. Although, I can't help but wonder how to rest of the people in that.. in my family will treat me. What if they don't want me? What if I'm too weak and a liability for them? What if they are disgusted by me and my past?
I took a deep breath as I walked towards the window, enjoying the view and suddenly, I thought about jack.
Fuck.
I forgot about him. I have been thinking of starting this new life but let's face it. I'll still be in the assassin business. I want to talk to Jack and make sure he isn't worried for me. I don't know what I should do but I really want to have a talk with Jack. I only have 30 minutes before we leave.
My mind isn't working and I'm panicking.
Deep breaths don't help as I pace around the room. And it suddenly hit me. This room has a phone. And I know Jack's phone number.
But, is it worth the risk? What is someone's tapping it? I sigh deeply, still panicking.
I give in shortly and called jack,
"hello?" I spoke,
The other side of jack remained silent,
"Jack.. I need your help" I mumbled, this was his personal phone that not many knew off,
"Trix?" He asked, worried, wait why did he call me that? There's probably someone else in the room with him
"I kind of fucked up?"
"What did you do?" He asked, concerned
"I don't know where to begin.." I sighed softly,
"Hold on, trix. I'm with Harry and he wants to thank you for saving his life earlier" jack adds as I hear him passing the phone away,
"Thank you, trix. I know you may deny it but thank you for saving me" Says the same stern voice which had just forced me to eat.
I remained silent for a while before responding,
"it's fine" I mumbled, changing my voice a bit,
"But I really need to talk to jack" I added, I hear him passing the phone away again,
"Yes? What happened kiddo?" He asked gently, concerned,
"you see that guy infront of you? Harry?" I begin,
"yes?" He says a bit sceptical,
"Yeah so turns out that I'm his sister and like the daughter of your boss or whatever" I say,
Jack remains silent,
"Wow.. okay, I'll call you back in a few." He says before hanging up the call.
Frustrated and panicked, I paced around the room, waiting for him to call back.
After a good 20 minutes, there's a ring on that phone.
"jack?" I ask as I pick up,
"Are you okay, alexis?" He speaks in a soft and concerned tone,
"I'm fine but what do I do?" I ask,
"listen.. this is probably for the best of you. Go with him to your real family. I know Harry and his family for the past decade and I know how important their sister and the boss's daughter is to them. You will live your best life and you won't be alone anymore. You will have all the facilities you will ever require, they are rich and they truly love you" he speaks in a gentle and soft tone,
"But.. rome? How will I be able to talk to you jack? You... I see you as a father before that boss of yours" I replied as I sat on that soft ass bed,
"Oh my darling.. don't worry. Everything will be fine. I'll try to remain in contact with you and visit you in a few weeks. Rome is a new place and it's filled with adventures for you" he spoke,
"So, will I be able to get missions?" I ask with hope,
"Of course dear, if that's what you want.. I'll call over a friend from there and inform him about your situation. Don't worry, he's trustful" he hesitates
"thank you jack, really. I don't know what I'd do without you" I mumbled,
There was a sudden knock on the door,
"Tell them trix retired. I'll grab on a new identity there. I gotta go" I mumbled softly,
The knocks grew louder,
"Alexis.. please stay safe and take care of yourself" jack says as I hang up the phone and place it down.
I walk over to the door and open it slightly to see Harry.
