MENODORA HAD FOUND HERSELF in the most aberrant situation by far; she was flying on the back of a horse—pegasus—with Percy, stalking the quest group. To be fair, she had gotten herself into it, so she couldn't exactly complain.
Thanks to Aspen and Ethan, Menodora had been unable to sulk about her dream for the remainder of the day; she was too busy listening to their bickering.
It started off with the game against the Hunters, and somehow it had gotten to a debate about whether books or movies were better.
Menodora debated if she should share her dream or the prophecy the Oracle had told her with the pair. But then Percy's word ringed through her ears; she couldn't tell anyone. He had been too serious for Menodora to take her chances right now.
But, she could tell them about her dream. It wasn't like she had had a crucial vision or anything, she just couldn't bear keeping it all inside of her. She needed someone to say what she needed to hear, which even she didn't know.
So, she bursted.
"The Cleopatra?!" Aspen yelled out, earning multiple hushes and scowls from the Apollo kids. "And you dated her brother?! A pharaoh?! First Percy, and now an entire king? You have to teach me your ways, man."
"Percy?" Ethan said. "What does Percy have to do with all of this?"
Aspen just smirked as she looked at Menodora, who shook her head.
"Aspen thinks Percy likes me," Menodora informed Ethan. "Which I think is absurd. Would you like someone within fourty-eight hours of meeting them?"
Ethan shrugged. "Depends from person to person, honestly."
"You didn't answer the question, Ethan," Aspen said. "Would you?"
"Yeah, it's happened before. But that's having a crush on someone. Having a crush and truly liking someone are two different things."
"No, they're not," Aspen said, frowning.
"Uh, yes, they are," Ethan retorted mockingly.
"No, they're not!"
"They are."
"For the love of Olympus, they aren't! Go ask cabin Ten, and you'll see—"
