"Okay, hold up. What's the deal, you guys?" she quizzed, her tone laced with an unexpected maturity that belied her age. We exchanged hesitant glances, unsure of how to respond.

"What do you mean?" I ventured, attempting to play it cool despite the weight of her scrutiny. But Kiran wasn't buying it. With a wisdom beyond her years, she cut through the facade with a blunt question that left us speechless.

"I'm not stupid, you know," she stated matter-of-factly, her words carrying the weight of someone younger but surprisingly insightful. "I can tell something's up, especially with Pragyan. Do you think I'm two years old?"

My face paled at Kiran's accusation, and I struggled to come up with a plausible excuse. "Maybe it was the food," I offered weakly, hoping to divert her attention. But Kiran wasn't buying it.

"Yeah, no," she retorted, her gaze unwavering. "And by the way, you look like you are about to cry."

I felt a surge of panic as Arnav and Shivansh shot me urgent looks, silently urging me to keep it together. I tried to push aside the overwhelming emotions threatening to consume me—the impending departure, the thought of leaving Kiran behind—but it was no use. The weight of it all crashed down on me, and I felt my facade crumble.

My face crumpled, and I turned away, unable to meet Kiran's probing gaze. But she wasn't about to let me off the hook that easily. With surprising gentleness, she reached out and grasped my chin, forcing me to face her.

"Yeah, right, food makes you cry," she remarked, her tone laced with skepticism. "It's true for girls when they're on their period, but for boys? You just proved it too."

I looked down, tears streaming down my face, blurring my vision. "We'll walk ahead, you guys... can talk," Shivansh suggested, taking the lead as Arnav, Madhu, and Geeta followed suit, leaving Kiran and me behind.

"Hey, do you want to sit and talk about it?" Kiran asked gently, her voice a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves. She tugged gently on my hand, leading me towards a secluded cove nearby. We settled down, and I struggled to steady my breathing as my tears continued to flow unabated.

Kiran hesitated for a moment before climbing onto my lap straddling me with her feet, wrapping her arms around me in a comforting koala hug. Normally, her gesture would have had me blushing furiously, but in that moment, all I could focus on was trying to calm my hitched breathing.

We sat like that for what felt like an eternity, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore providing a backdrop to our shared moment of vulnerability. Eventually, my tears subsided, and I found solace in the comforting presence of her. With my eyes closed, I rested my face against the crook of her neck, taking in the familiar scent of her hair. She was indeed a remarkably comforting person, and in that moment, I was grateful for her unwavering support.

"Now that you're feeling better, what do you want to do?" Kiran's voice was soft, her concern evident in her eyes as she spoke. I could sense her reluctance to delve deeper into the heavy emotions that had weighed me down moments ago.

Taking a deep breath, I shifted my position, feeling her warmth as she settled onto my lap. Despite the turmoil in my mind, I couldn't ignore the electric tension between us. Our faces were inches apart, the silence hanging heavy with unspoken words.

For a brief, heart-stopping moment, I considered the consequences of my actions. But before I could second-guess myself, I leaned in, brushing my lips against hers in a tentative kiss. It was a risky move, a leap into the unknown.

Her body tensed momentarily, and panic surged through me. But then, to my utter amazement, she responded in kind. In a whirlwind of unexpected passion, she grabbed hold of my collar and pulled me closer, her lips meeting mine in a sweet, gentle kiss.

It was a moment I had dreamed of for so long, and now it was happening right before my eyes. I could feel her smile against my lips as we kissed, the world around us fading into oblivion as we lost ourselves in each other.

As we reluctantly broke apart, the sound of footsteps crunching on the sand reached our ears. There they stood, our friends, having stumbled upon our private moment. Arnav and Shivansh wore matching grins, clearly amused by the sight before them. Madhu and Geeta, on the other hand, were a giggling mess as they glanced between Kiran and me.

Our faces flushed pink with embarrassment, but we couldn't help but grin at each other. It was a mixture of relief and amusement that bubbled up inside me, and I didn't hold back a relieved sigh. Somehow, having our friends witness our intimate moment made it all the more real, and strangely, all the more special.
