- Third Person POV -

"You two didn't have to drive so far, I could've picked it up myself." The lady handling the speakers pulled the equipment into her shed.

"Nah, we wouldn't want you to go through all that trouble after lending the equipment to us." Mingyu smiled.

"Happy to help! Also, congrats on the event."

"Ah, one more thing..."

"Yeah?"

"Is it alright if we hand around out here for a but? It's such a beautiful view." Mingyu asked.

"Oh, you haven't seen anything yet. The path over there leads to the river. You should check it out, it's my favorite place."

"Awesome! We will! Thanks!"

"Yep, see you guys around!" She entered her house closing her door.

"..." Mingyu and Seungcheol stood in silence.

"We'll I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't want another awkwardly silent car ride." Seungcheol sighed.

"Y-Yeah... Sorry, I was trying to gather my thoughts earlier." Mingyu looked up at the sky as he began walking.

"It's okay. I get it. So, to the river?"

"Yes..."

><><><><

And they approved the river that reflected the crescent moon above.

"Wow, who would've thought there was a place like this here?"

"It's beautiful I bet it's even better in the daytime." Seungcheol smiled.

"Mhmm..."

"Mingyu?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you still mad at me?"

"I'm not gonna lie, I'm still upset. Keeping something like that from a friends would be upsetting to anyone. Still, I've sure you have your reasons. I'm a little less frizzed now that the event is over. I think I'm ready to hear you out now."

"My reason... Is only reasonable if you take my feelings seriously." Seungcheol sat down with Mingyu.

"What do you mean?"

"I was scared Mingyu, that's it. Of all the times I could've told you I chickened out."

"Scared of what? Of me? Of what I'd say?"

"We've been friends for years, Cheol. Shouldn't I be the one you'd be the least scared of?"

"I was especially scared of you, Mingyu. There's just something about how we were that made me so doubtful of myself. You know me so much it's as if you know when I'm about to fail. You were there for every wrong turn through the years. You were the one to pull me up every single time. You came even before I could ask for help. Before I could do anything to help myself....

"But instead of being grateful, it just made me feel smaller and smaller. Even at times when I thought I was doing fine, you'd come along and make it somehow better. Like all my hard work was for nothing. When Chan came along, I just knew it had to stop. The last thing I needed was to feel like a useless father. Especially when I'm trying my hardest to be one."

"I-I had no idea..." Mingyu realized what his friend had been going through all this time.

"It's okay, I don't expect you to be a mind reader either. I couldn't speak up because I was also afraid you'd hate me if I said anything. I was aware that you only had the best intentions and never wanted me to feel that way. I wanted it to stop but I also didn't want you gone. I was so consumed by fear and self-doubt inside of me that I forgot something so simple yet so important."

"Hm?"

"You love me." Seungcheol smiled his friend was one he never wanted to lose. "You love me way too much to not understand."

"Well, congratulations on coming back to your senses." Mingyu chuckled and hung his arm over Seungcheol's shoulder. "Hell yeah, I love you! And I know you love me too! Come on, say it!"

"Argh! Fine! I love you too!"

"Still, I'm so sorry I made you feel that way."

"Me too, Sorry that because of me you developed this weird savior complex."

"W-What I don't have that!"

"Don't you have a new job ready for me because you feel like my current one isn't good enough?"

"O-Oh I didn't realize—"

"It's okay, don't look so down. Someday something might happen that'll be too much for me to handle on my own. When that day comes, you'd be sure that I'd come knocking at your door. Just knowing that I have a friend like you, it's more than I could ever ask for... So. thank you."

"You're welcome Cheol." Mingyu smiled. "So, about your little one..."

"Hahaha!"

"Chan he really is something, huh?"

"What did you expect? His Dad is awesome."

"By the way, I hope you know that because you didn't tell me right away... you missed out on me spoiling the hell out of him for 3 whole years!"

"Nah, even I have only known Chan for less than a year."

"Huh? Why is that?" Mingyu was confused.

"Chan's Mom didn't want me to know about him. It was his grandmother who contacted me when she suddenly left."

"Wait, so you don't know where his Mom is?"

"Yep, no one knows."

"And she just left Chan with her parents, just like that?"

"Yep."

"Wait, who's Chan's mom anyway? Is she someone from here? From college? Someone I know?"

"We were both doing our residency in the same hospital."

"Hey, didn't you introduce me to your colleagues back then? Back when I needed input for the concierge medicine business model."

"Yeah, I think she was there. Though I doubt you'd remember her, it was a long time ago... Her name is Lisa Baek."

"Lisa... I remember..." Mingyu's eyes widened. "How could I forget her? She had the most questions back then. But more importantly... ... I think I saw her earlier this year."
