10 days later;

these ten days were like a still boat on shifting water, moving only because of the occurrence of nature. Things were going like they do, quiet and tediously. Nothing has happened in Felix's life that would make a moment social, not since he last met Hyunjin at least. After their breakfast together, Felix and Hyunjin didn't have any further interactions. No accidental meet-ups, no texts or calls. And perhaps because of that, the lack of seeing Hyunjin (his escapism), Felix has begun falling down the rabbit hole of aching for his ex all over again. It was important to note he wasn't as buried in grief as he usually was

the notes of melancholy didn't ring in his ears as terribly as they normally do, but it was still there, a wane melody of a lost love. He'd spent moments just thinking of what Chan must be up to, daydreaming about their shared past, what could've been, would've been. He knew it was of no use, and that Chan was very likely unhappy with the relationship that he hid it from Jeongin, and then later left the bond completely. Felix assumed he must've done it because he  fell out of love with Felix, began liking Jeongin, and didn't want to appear taken in front of him when he wasn't taken at heart

Felix doesn't blame him, he knows Chan must have tried, considering he has been talking to Jeonging longer than Felix could have guessed. But if he couldn't find it in him to continue to love Felix then the blame is on fate. All he hates is how good Chan was at pretending, because never once did Felix feel like the man didn't want to be a part of this relationship anymore, not once did the blue-haired feel as though Chan didn't absolutely adore him. And he hates how wrong and foolish he was

though in this haze of sadness, he fails to understand how less miserable he feels. Fails to notice the visible change in his heart. Maybe because there are also other things that have been keeping his thoughts busy, like Hyunjin for instance who never seems to leave his mind alone. Felix doesn't understand why no matter what he does he'll always come back to thinking of the certain blond he barely knows, his laugh, his smile, his softening behavior, his gentle touches, and everything else

the way he tastes, the way he'd groan anytime Felix would please him, and the way the gaze adorning his eyes looks like he'd crush your skull but anytime Felix catches him looking at him, he'd find a glimmer of softness in them. However, that wasn't all that kept Felix's thoughts occupied, when a blue moon would come and he would be left alone from the thoughts of Hyunjin, the thoughts of Jungkook would come and reside in his mind

His boss was a strange figure in the storyline of his present, he doesn't understand what has flipped between them since the last interaction they had but something changed. After Jungkook had come back from his trip, the two shared an interaction. Felix couldn't put a finger on whether it was bizarre or it was just him who felt out of place. But something was different, and it was obvious, evidently so. It was visible from the way Jungkook had looked at Felix that afternoon, the first time they met after the infamous interaction

Felix remembers vividly even a week later that the look in his eyes looked as soft as clouds on a good day, he could still remember Jungkook's faint smile, him holding back his words and having the lilt of shyness in his voice despite being Felix's boss-having the upper hand and being the type of person who never lost his witty smirk. They didn't converse about their last conversation whatsoever, all they discussed was business and casual 'How are you doing'

It confused Felix entirely too much but there was also this little doubt in his heart, maybe Jungkook wasn't just 'the-nice-boss'? It wasn't like Felix had seen him treating others the same way he treated him, there's something that has always been different with the way Jungkook treated him and maybe he needed to conspire on this theory for the ease of his heart and to divert his mind from the pain that was his ex-lover.
