Hey guys, I just realized I've never included a moment where Sophie is having a mental breakdown, not Keefe... I know, it seems cruel, but Sophie needs to have issues too, okay? (She already has a lot of issues, but I mean she needs to express them. Also, now the Neverseen have to deal with her, lol) So... That's kinda what this next chapter is gonna be. Sorry if it makes you cry or makes you wanna beat your own pillows in your house, but this is happening and you can't stop it! Okay, happy crying! :)

(Sophie's POV)

Keefe, the one and only love of my life, was gone. I could barely spend four hours without him, and now... I might never see him again.

I couldn't handle that.

And I knew Keefe couldn't handle it either, but that didn't help me much.

It didn't help to know that he was hurting as much as I was, because he was probably feeling so guilty for something he didn't cause, and I couldn't comfort him.

But he couldn't comfort me for my guilt, either.

We were better together. And being apart practically broke us into thousands of pieces.

"You know, Sophie, I expected you to be... Tougher. I mean, you've messed up our plans many times with fighting, and yet you can't handle being away from Keefe for ten hours." Lady Gisela remarked.

"You wouldn't understand. You don't have a heart." Sophie muttered. (Oooh, nice burn Foster!)

"I would understand, Sophie. Just not in the way you're expecting. Now, we need to get to work. Come on." Lady Gisela put a pair of handcuffs on Sophie's wrists.

"Oh, wow, you're so unpredictable." Sophie said sarcastically. Lady Gisela ignored her as she dragged Sophie's wheelchair out into the dark hallway.

"Can't you turn on lights or anything? Or are you too poor to pay the power bill?" Sophie mumbled as her wheel made her say "oof" as it tripped on a random crack in the floor.

"No, this is part of our security." Lady Gisela replied. "At least I know you can't escape through this hall, because of your trusty little wheelchair."

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes like she didn't care, but... Usually Keefe was the one who caught her (when she was able to walk).

He was the one who was always there, with his arms open, ready to take care of her. And even when she had been in a wheelchair, she would still trip, and he would always flash a smile and tease her so she'd feel better.

Just seeing his face in her mind made her heart flutter.

"We're here." Lady Gisela murmured, pushing Sophie's wheelchair into a super bright room. It was completely empty. (This part is kinda funny in my opinion because her greatest enemy is literally pushing her in a wheelchair, that's kinda weird to imagine)

"What are you planning to do with me?" Sophie whispered, hating how her voice trembled.

"Things you aren't ready to accept yet." Lady Gisela said absentmindedly. "Lick this." She held out a piece of metal.

"Eww, there's no way I'm doing that. It doesn't even look clean." Sophie argued. Lady Gisela rolled her eyes.

"Need I remind you that we can come after your precious boyfriend again?" She asked. Sophie swallowed hard.

"Fine. But if I get sick, you guys have to pay for my doctor's office visits." Sophie warned. Lady Gisela nod-shrugged.

"Sure. Just lick it."

"Fine." Sophie took a deep breath before giving the metal a tiny lick. For a second, nothing happened. Then there was a green light that lit up on the corner of the metal.

Lady Gisela's smile looked so excited Sophie couldn't help trying to imagine her if she was a good person. Actually, nevermind. It wasn't possible.

"You've done your job. Take three lefts, two rights, and then four more lefts, and then you'll be back at your room. I'll turn on the lights momentarily for your..." Her voice trailed off when she heard arguing in the other room. It sounded like Ruy and Fintan's voices.

"Well, I hope Keefe isn't on your mind too much..." She mumbled, pushing Sophie's wheelchair into the hall and then slamming the door.

Keefe was definitely on her mind now... (Oh, wait, that was what she was trying to do, lol)

"Great." Sophie muttered. His voice filled her mind.

"I love you, Foster. I always will."

Then her mind flashed to their first kiss. He had genuinely been chasing her for that long. She was just too oblivious to see it.

She arrived in her room and slammed the door. Her eyes flicked to her wheelchair.

She couldn't throw a tantrum if she couldn't even kick her legs and scream.

But the wheelchair reminded her of Keefe. Everything reminded her of Keefe. Even the light blue socks she was wearing. (Sorry, that's kinda weird to add to this story, lol)

Keefe was her balance. And with one of the sides gone, she was tipping closer to the cliff.

The way his beautiful hair shimmered in the sunlight. The way his strong arms surrounded her. The way he cared about her more than his career, more than anything he could ever want. She was his top priority. And yet... She didn't feel like the top priority of anyone right now. She felt... Empty. Keefe was the filling to the hole in her heart. And now that he was gone, she might as well just lay in her mattress on the floor forever.

A lump lodged in Sophie's throat.

When one tear slid down her cheek, she couldn't stop it. Every muscle in her body broke down, and she collapsed in a heap on her mattress.

Keefe's beautiful arms weren't there to hug her.

His gentle hands weren't there to wipe away her tears.

And she was crying so hard, she could barely breathe.

Another voice filled her mind: "Team Foster-Keefe, remember? We can do it together."

She cried even harder. He always said that whenever she was upset or sad. But it wasn't comforting this time.

Now there was a gaping hole in her heart, and it couldn't be filled until she felt Keefe's touch again, which set off electrifying tingles that struck her with a rush.

She wanted... No, she needed him.

And in that last moment, when his arm was holding hers just before she was going with the Neverseen, she couldn't help sending a plea out to him with her eyes. She had said: Keefe, please, don't come after me.

She just hoped he knew what she meant, and that he would actually listen to it.

Because, even though she missed him with all she had, she couldn't put another person she loved in danger.

"I love you too, Keefe. Don't forget that." Sophie whispered. She couldn't help wondering if he actually heard her.

Then she broke into sobs again, crying herself to sleep.
