Inheritance

Half of my father's rage,
half of my mother's sadness–
sprouted since young age,
a lone wolf grows in silence.

Half of my father's vice,
Half of my mother's lies–
the wisdom in my head
is kind of dark and twisted.

Half of my father's doubts,
half of my mother's sureness–
deranged the ones I love,
watch them weep in silence.

Half of my father's blood,
half of my mother's flesh–
their inheritance is all that I am,
years of unlearning to not become.
