Chapter 39

Alisha woke up with her eyelid squeezing the view from her eyeballs.

She sat leaning her head on the headboard until she replayed the memories of the previous night and that's when she realized that she again slept near him and asked the same as their first night, he woke up earlier than her.

She got up from the bed and ran to the washroom to get fresh. She while doing her routine thought to ignore him as he'd surely use it to tease her.

She got ready and walked downstairs only to see him giggling while discussing something with her dadi and Moni.

'ek din tha jab isne in sab par gun Tani thi or aaj uske sath Beth kar haste hue bate kar raha hai, ajeeb admi hai'

(There was a day when he pointed a gun at my family and now talking to them while giggling, he's weird)

She reached the last step and thought to go to the kitchen that's when a voice called her.

"Alisha kab uuthi ho tum?" Asked Dadi already knowing the answer but wanting to hear from Alisha's mouth.

(When did you wake up?)

"Just now dadi," she said with an awkward smile knowing the volcano was about to bust. But before that Ace saved her.

"Voh dadi I told you about the last night that's why she was tired," he said while winking at her.

Meanwhile, Alisha when heard this, eyes widened like a golf ball that could pop out in a few seconds.

'what did he say to them? I have to talk to him about this in private!' She screamed in her mind.

Dadi looked at Alisha once and then looked away smiling that made Alisha's cheeks red lips cherry. She facepalmed herself in her thoughts.

While she was lost in her thoughts dadi again called her.

"Aab yahi khadi rahogi yah inko chai bhi bana kar dogi?" After hearing this Alisha ran to the kitchen to make tea for everyone including her.

(You'll stand her whole day or will make tea for us?)

That's when her stepmother entered the scene and grabbed Alisha's elbow and said.

"Apne pyaare pati dev ko aaj ke aaj Rafa dafa karo"

(Ask your dear husband to leave by today)

"Aap bhi unko kyu nahi ja kar keh deti hai" replied Alisha making colour drain from Mrs. Srivastav's face.

Mrs. Srivastav walked out while grabbing her vermilion little box in her hand towards the stairs which were near the place they all were sitting and talking.

She was about to step on the stairs but not before glaring at them but that's when her eyes met with Ace, which made a shiver run down her spine. She almost got imbalanced when that box securely got placed on the side table nearby but she fell on the floor on her butt.

Everyone laughed except the ace who was looking somewhere else, admiring the view of Alisha entering the room with tea cups lining the tray.

Alisha heard giggling and looked away from the tray to see her stepmother lying on the floor like a dead body pattern on the crime site.

She immediately took her to sit near Moni and on the same big sofa on which Ace was sitting on the other end and asked.

"Kya hua kese giri?" Alisha asked covering her mouth and giggling while he was lost in admiring his wife.

(What happened, how did she fall?)

"Hoga kya kahi pe nighahe kahi pe nishana" said Dadi while taking the teacup and saucer from the tray.
