Minnie woke up and took a quick shower, eating breakfast she noticed her mood was happier than usual, she blamed it on thinking about her upcoming plans with Miyeon. Thinking about the girl made her go to her phone and press messages, she wanted to ask her if she was free today of course. She wasn't going to rush and go at it immediately.
On the other hand, Miyeon was sleeping peacefully on her couch, she slept there because of how exhausted she was after bickering and playing with Yuqi all night yesterday. Her phone showed a notification ring, and this woke her up, grabbing her phone and checking who it was.
Her desire for sleep left when she knew who the message was.
—Hey Miyeon, sorry to disrupt your time but I wanted to know if you're free today? —
Miyeon had two simple options, respond or leave. Both options had consequences, and second thoughts followed. Now. the idea of Minnie coming to her apartment because she doesn't reply still haunts her, so she decides to respond. She wishes this was the safest and logical option. Miyeon didn't want to know what else could go wrong.
—Yeah, I am, why?—
Miyeon hopes Minnie decides to text and not meet up, but her wishes didn't side with her.
—I wanted to see if we could meet, I wanted to talk about something important—
Miyeon definitely had to back down, this encounter could be dangerous.
—Why?—
Miyeon wanted to know, she had to make sure it wasn't her who was being paranoid.
—I wanted to be friends again and maybe meet up, friendly thing.—
This sounded good but Miyeon still felt like something was off, either way it could be good so Minnie can finally leave her alone.
—Sure, meet up at the coffee store near the park—
Miyeon then saw another message but decided not to answer, she really didn't want to see Minnie but if it takes just seeing her once and then never again, she will take it.
She still wondered about Shuhua, where has she been these past two days, Soyeon and Yuqi haven't said anything about her and Yuqi said she hasn't seen her either. Miyeon wasn't worried but rather desperate on seeing her again. She had to calm herself and give the taiwanese girl her own space though.
Obviously, she didn't know, the taiwanese girl was actually thinking about her too.
Shuhua was sitting on one of the wooden benches in the garden of her home, she thought about that kind smile that plagued her mind, she smiled at the thought of the girl and perhaps she knew why. But also, Minnie's confession scared her as well. Knowing her friend was persevering in getting Miyeon back, and obviously there was nothing she could do, her feelings wouldn't matter anymore.
Minnie liked Miyeon, Miyeon's ex-girlfriend wanted her back and maybe, just maybe, Miyeon still liked Minnie.
Shuhua really didn't want to risk entangling herself in something she never had, she truly liked Miyeon, but if someone else, especially her ex-girlfriend did. She had to either fight back, or let it happen because it wasn't her place to be there.
She fought, long time ago for her own true love, it ended in tragic, Shuhua just wanted Miyeon to be safe and happy. She felt like a coward and helpless.
______
It was 9:00pm in the night, the chilly cold night made Miyeon wear a simple sweater and some jeans. She really wished Minnie didn't call upon her, her serotonin was low, and that time of the month was coming. Yet here she was.
She entered the small welcoming cafe business, she always goes here before work and get two shots of energy, well, caffeine. Weirdly enough, she doesn't know how Minnie knows this place.
A multitude were there, chatting and blabbering filled the halls, her black hair with bangs was still recognizable from afar. As Miyeon sat, Minnie smiled ear to ear.
—I didn't expect for you to actually be here— Minnie said smiling shortly, she raised her palm in search for the waiter.
—Dinner is on me— Miyeon didn't mind her paying but she still didn't want to let her guard down by this kind acting.
—Something important?? What is it— Miyeon said quickly wanting to know Minnie's meet up topic.
—Alright, alright— Minnie said and prepared her voice.
—As I said in the call, I know you might still not like me, and I totally get that— Minnie stared from Miyeon to the table Infront of her.
—But I still want to know if there's a chance for us to start at zero? — Minnie said, she felt nervous that she couldn't see eye to eye anymore.
—Minnie, you do know why I don't like you right? — Miyeon said bluntly with her tired eyes.
OF course, she knew about this, only, she didn't want to touch the topic again, her regret and guilt still kept in touch with her. Too much might not end up well for her mental health.
— Yes I do, but please I just want to know— Minnie was almost hitting the desperate phase she planned to avoid but maybe her prayers were heard.
—Fine, we can be cool, only if I see you become a better person—Miyeon said with a forced smile, seeing the Thai girl quickly light up. Minnie paid for their coffees and left.

Shuhua's mom was bidding goodbyes to her uncles, aunts and cousins, the 3-day family reunion was over, and everyone was packing up or leaving. Shuhua had enough attention from everybody, so she went to her mom's garden, smelling lilies and flowers. She thought how delicate flowers are, she also thought how delicate her feelings for someone in the present was.If one single thing were to happen, she didn't think how much she would resist. The taiwanese girl felt as soon as this was over, she came back into the real world, Minnie's words lingered her mind, ghosting everyone was one of her plans after that night. Another coward move.
She wished she had enough bravery to keep going, Miyeon only mattered. But she wasn't that person, only in the past.
Shuhua sighs and goes back to her bed, she picks up a random mug, suddenly her world seemed to shake, her eyes were blurry. She was crying.
This all reminded her of Soojin, they been waiting long, and long enough to see a horrible outcome. The mug slipped from Shuhua's hand hitting her thigh and ending up to the floor. All broken. Adrenaline rushed and decided to pick each share of porcelain by herself, fearing her parent's questioning. Shuhua hissed at the touch of her palm against the sharp ceramic, she winced in pain and still picked up each one.
In the bathroom, she felt her hands beating, a strong pulse, like her heart were in them, covered in all blood. The pain was still intact, carefully, she managed to circle a bandage over her hands. Maybe going to bed was the best choice for now. She didn't want to think, if Miyeon kept plaguing her mind, the latter would never know she was the reason Shuhua couldn't keep up.
