Preparations were now in order, Abaeze was fitted in an electricity-proof attire. Well, allegedly, he's still not recovered from Weerlig's fanatics and he can only think about how Cherri would've reacted. But now wasn't the time to think about that. He looked up, as a saving grace it seems he was starting half way already up the gigantic pylon though that still left an ordeal and a half left for him to deal with. Standing on a platform erected inwards of the structure he could see the other potential trainers he would have to face. It seemed like the way around them would require moving across a plethora of beams both inside the pylon and the outer edges themselves. This definitely was giving Tonitrophobia if nothing else.
He let out a gulp, before he began to make his first steps. As a blessing the paths didn't seem too complex, though it was a matter between fighting through an armada of trainers or going on the outside of this giant structure and seeing just how able one is able to face their fears. Abaeze decided to pace himself, perhaps just face a trainer first to get an idea of what he could be dealing with if he eventually makes it to Weerlig and get used to the whole...fighting in an active pylon. He took a few steps forward as he walked across one of the inner beams, until he locked eyes with a Gym Trainer, Sade. No words were even spoken by either party, both knowing the rules of combat and instantly engaging with their Pokémon. Sade sent out a Sparkshrub, the Bush Pokémon. Abaeze had in turn sent out his own partner, Baerka, of which they shared a similar typing.
Their eyes met and in an instant a battle was assured. No words were even spoken by either party, both knowing the rules of combat and instantly engaging with their Pokémon. Sade sent out a Sparkshrub, the Bush Pokémon. Abaeze had in turn sent out his own partner, Baerka, of which they shared a similar typing.

He used the opportunity of battle to try and help calm his nerves, he had a lot of confidence in being able to deal with this opponent fast and continue his traversal up this immense structure. Before any commands were thrown out Baerka looked back at Abaeze as though it had its own agenda. This is certainly strange, what could it possibly be planning? Abaeze decided to trust his partner, seeing as they were in a more controlled environment he could risk whatever strategy was at play. Though perhaps the trainer was beginning to overthink a bit as he left the fate of battle in the hands of his partner. Sade's Sparkshrub seemed armed for battle, moving its way towards Baerka before it made its own counterstrike - it seems Baerka had a new trick up its sleeve that would prove useful for the coming fights.
Baerka didn't give chance for Sparkshrub to attack, zooming towards it and striking with a pre-emptive blow in the form of Sucker Punch, a new move it had picked up in its battles. It made a direct hit against the Bush Pokémon and knocked it into the ground. It tried to get back up to continue its move but it was unable to muster the strength, soon resigning to getting knocked out in a single turn. Baerka let out a thunderous roar, it seemed adamant of its chances at victory and presumably wanted to prove to its trainer that Abaeze had nothing to be fearful of.
