fast forward a year later, jay and jungwon stood hand in hand, their smiles radiant as they walked into the school cafeteria together.
their friends had gathered at their usual table, and the air buzzed with excitement and laughter. it was a special day, one that marked a year since jay had chosen to stay with jungwon, defying the odds and proving that their love was indeed unbreakable.
"look who finally decided to show up!" jake teased, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"yeah, took you lovebirds long enough," sunoo added, rolling his eyes playfully.
niki leaned in, smirking. "did you get lost in each other's eyes again?"
jungwon blushed, squeezing jay's hand a bit tighter. "shut up, guys," he mumbled, though the smile on his face showed that he didn't mind the teasing one bit.
jay chuckled, his arm slipping around jungwon's waist. "what can i say? he's my one and only," he said, giving jungwon a loving glance that made his heart flutter.
their friends erupted into laughter and cheers, the playful banter continuing as they all settled down to eat. despite the teasing, it was clear that everyone was genuinely happy for jay and jungwon. they had all been there through the ups and downs, witnessing the strength of their bond.
heeseung, with a wide grin, raised his glass of soda. "a toast to the happy couple," he announced, his voice carrying a mix of pride and affection. "may you guys stay as in love as you are now, forever."
"here, here!" everyone chimed in, clinking their glasses together.
as the lunch continued, jay and jungwon found themselves wrapped in each other's arms, the world around them fading into the background. they knew there would be challenges ahead, but they also knew they could face anything as long as they had each other.
later that evening, jay and jungwon found themselves walking through the park where they had shared many memories. the sun was setting, casting a warm, golden glow over everything. they stopped by their favorite spot, a bench overlooking a small pond.
"remember our first date here?" jay asked, his voice soft with nostalgia.
jungwon nodded, leaning his head on jay's shoulder. "yeah, you were so nervous, you spilled your drink all over yourself," he teased, laughing gently.
jay chuckled, wrapping an arm around jungwon. "i guess some things never change. i'm still just as nervous around you."
jungwon looked up at jay, his eyes filled with love. "you don't have to be tho."
jay smiled, leaning down to press a tender kiss to jungwon's lips. "i know baby~"
as they sat there, the world around them peaceful and serene, they knew that no matter what the future held, their love would endure. they were each other's one and only, and that was all they needed.
back in the cafeteria, the rest of their friends were having their own romantic moments. niki and sunghoon sat close together, sharing a milkshake with two straws. niki playfully nudged sunghoon, who laughed and leaned in to kiss niki on the cheek.
"you guys are so cute, it’s almost sickening," sunoo joked, grinning widely.
"shut ur ass up sunoo" sunghoon shot back, teasing sunoo that he's single.
meanwhile, jake and heeseung were sitting side by side, their hands intertwined under the table. jake looked at heeseung, his eyes full of adoration. "i still can't believe we're together," he said softly.
heeseung smiled, squeezing jake's hand. "believe it, because i'm not going anywhere."
their friends erupted in cheers and teasing once again, but there was an underlying warmth in their banter, a genuine happiness for each other’s happiness.
as the day came to an end, and everyone prepared to go their separate ways, jay and jungwon shared one last kiss, sealing their promise to each other.
"you're my one and only, jungwon," jay whispered against his lips.
"and you're mine, hyung" jungwon replied, smiling against the kiss.
they knew that whatever the future held, they would face it together, side by side, as each other's one and only.
