Chapter 3: The Rescue Mates

I turned over feeling arms pull me closer as I snuggled deeper into the warmth. "ALPHA!" Alex and I both growled as we looked at the young wolf, "What?" The young wolf looked at us fearfully, "They are here." I stopped moving and breathing at those three words, they sounded like the end of me, "Kate?" I felt Alex's hand gently touch me and I gasped for air, "He is going to kill me..." Alex growled and grabbed me, "No!" In seconds Alex got out of bed and grabbed a shirt and headed for the door. I stood and leaped to him he turned looking at me, "You must stay here..." I growled, "No!" He shook his head and grabbed my hand, "You stay next to or behind me." I nodded and squeezed his hand as we walked towards Kent. He let out a loud growl as he stepped towards us, "Kate come here you are our Luna!" Alex growled, "You won't touch her!" Kent smirked, "Aww the young little Alpha sticking up for the worthless she wolf, how cute." I could feel the anger building inside of Alex. "Well Kate I will give you till tonight to come back or this..." He nodded as two of his guards threw the doctor towards us. He looked horrible and was hardly breathing, "Will happen to Caleb." They turned as I ran to the doctor he started to cough up blood, "I am sorry..." I began to cry as he looked up at the sky and then me, "We all die but you... You are something more amazing and you are more powerful then any Luna or wolf. Do what your heart wants not what others make you..." I watched him look at me and then smiled as he closed his eyes and stopped breathing. I cried harder as I placed his head on the ground and Alex pulled me back into a hug, "Kate..." I cut him off with a growl a low deep growl, "I am going to kill him." Alex looked at me, "That is what he wants you to do, to come to him." I looked at the doctor and felt my body shift and I began to pace back and forth. I laid down and stared at the forest, "Kate?" I growled, "Not Kate, Athen." He looked at me, "Athen please calm down and shift." I growled again and looked at the sky. I watched as Alex shifted into a beautiful golden red wolf. He laid down next to me and placed his head on my back, "I will stay here with you then." I smiled a little as I kept looking at the sky, "What are you looking at Athen?" I sighed, "My parents died two years ago and when I am upset I lay outside and look to the sky asking for their guidance and comfort." He looked up too and gave a howl, "My mother is up there too." I jumped to my feet and sniffed deep and growled. I looked up as a black and brown wolf came trotting out of the clearing. He shifted into Gabe and Alex suddenly shifted and ran to him hugging him. I growled and shifted, "You!" Gabe grabbed me quickly, "The pretty girl." I felt my body rip out of his arms as Alex grabbed me and growled so aggressively at him, "Don't touch her!" Gabe looked at me, "You are a little trouble maker aren't you?" Alex but me behind him as Gabe started to step towards me, "Step away from her Gabe." Gabe raised an eyebrow, "Aren't you supposed to be with Kent little wolf?" I grabbed my face, "I am not Kent's!" I growled, "Why are you here anyway?" He smiled, "I am Alex's best friend and half brother ." Alex nodded, "It's true." Gabe smirked at me, "I hear you are stirring up so much trouble little wolf." I growled, "Stop calling me little wolf." He smiled, "Or what?" I pushed out behind Alex and jumped easily pinning him down, "I am not in the mood for games wolf boy!" He smirked and pinned me beneath him, "Neither am I little wolf." Alex pushed Gabe off and picked me up, "Are you going to help us or not Gabe?" I looked at Alex who just growled, "Yes we will, but not for you for her. I my be horrible and all but I would never hit a girl let alone my supposed to be mate." I looked at him with new eyes almost, "You have a gently side you should try showing it more." He blushed slightly as Alex busted out laughing, "Are you blushing." In a second Gabe and Alex were rolling around on the ground. The guards headed inside as I took a step back laughing at the two boys. I felt something hit me and then again. I looked down at the darts. "Alex! Gabe!" I felt another dart hit me as two arms picked me up and began to run me away from the house. I looked at two dark shadows following behind as a cloud of smoke went up I couldn't see anything. I heard his voice, "Welcome home Kate." My eyes closed, 'Alexander.' 

Alexander's POV 

 I had Gabe pinned under me when I heard Kate's voice, "Alex! Gabe!" I looked up as someone grabbing Kate pulling her into the darkness. I quickly got up and started to run after her I noticed Gabe on the right side of me as we were catching up to Kate. The guy hold Kate smirked as he threw two weird looking balls on the ground. I watched as smoke circled around us and enclosed us. Gabe suddenly fell to the floor as my head began to fell light and dizzy. I heard Kate's sweet voice, "Alexander." I hit the ground blacking out..."Kate!" I sat up and looked at a passed out Gabe, "WAKE UP SLEEPING BEAUTY!" He suddenly sat up, "Ow my head." I nodded and looked at him, "They took Kate and I know who it is... Kent." We both growled, "Well then lets get her back." I nodded, "We will need some back up." We turned and ran back to the pack house, "Get your guards and I will get mine." He nodded and howled as the six wolves ran out and shifted. I let out a long howl as twelve of my guards ran and shifted, "We must get Kate back!" They growled and we all took off towards Kent's pack. We reached the boarder line, "Stay close together!" We ran across the line and shifted as we walked into the back yard, "KENT!" He walked out as his pack surrounded us, "Yes Alexander?" I looked at Kate handcuffed in only a bra and shorts. I growled, "Let her go!" I noticed she had more bruises over her face and body. I felt Gabe growl too when he noticed the bruises. I turned slightly to Gabe, "Alex we will hold him off you need to get to Kate." I nodded as we all shifted and ran for them. Kent grabbed Kate and we all stopped and growled. "Let her go!" We all shifted as he pulled out a knife and cut her stomach. I sniffed and could smell her blood. Everything went black... 

 My eyes opened as I looked at Kent pinned under me. I smiled, "You give up?" He nodded and I shifted I looked at Kate on the ground and easily broke the handcuffs. I picked her up and started to carrier her back to the pack house. It was a long walk but it was totally worth it after the first mile Kate easily fell asleep. Gabe walked up next to me, "What happened back there?" I looked at him, "I seriously have no idea after he cut her I blacked out." He laughed a little, "You went full Jackie Wolf on him. You ran and tackled him and just punched the evil out of him. Then he tired to attack you again and you full back kicked him in the stomach. You shifted and pinned him down and then you shifted back." I looked at Kate, "I am almost certain she is my mate." Gabe smirked, "I can for certain agree with you." I looked almost sad and felt Gabe pat my shoulder, "She isn't a Jenny but that might be a good thing." I whimpered as Kate moved in my arms. "At least she won't run off with your actual brother even though you were her true mate." Kate woke up and looked at me and smiled, "I heard you." I blushed, "What?" She gave a cute giggle, "You are almost certain I am your mate." I blushed harder, "Umm yeah." She placed her hand gently on my face, "I am sorry to hear about Jenny too." I looked away from her, "Oh you heard that..." She moved my head so I was looking at her, "We both have rough pasts it is fine." She flinched in pain a little and I looked at her bleeding stomach. I walked faster as we reached the house finally. I took her in and laid her down on the kitchen counter top, "DOCTOR!" I watched the women walk in, "Yes?" She saw Kate and bowed, "Luna." I coughed, "I will get my kit." She turned and led as Kate looked at me, "What?" She blushed, "I think you are my second mate." Suddenly this lose growled erupted from me, "MATE!" She growled back, "MATE!" She smiled as I pulled her closer out lips almost touching. "I got the kit!" I turned and looked at the doctor and sighed. I looked at Kate looking as sad as I had felt. The doctor walked over and looked at Kate. "You have been through a lot Luna," The doctor carefully cleaned up the wound and put some jelly type thing on it. "She should be better but needs rest to fully heal," She bowed, "Thank you so much Doctor!" I picked up Kate and carried her up and into our bed room. I placed her on the bed and took my shirt off. Her eyes glued to my chest and then shoulder, "What happen?" She saw the scare across my right shoulder, "In one of my many battles a guy threw a silver knife at me." She looked so hurt, "Awww!" I climbed into the bed next to her as she turned over looking at me. In a mer second she grabbed my head and pulled our faces together. We hit heads and both pulled away we looked at each other and laughed! "Well that was fun," She giggled at me. I carefully brushed back a piece of her hair and placed my hand under her head and let our lips connect. It was like a million butterflies being released inside me. We both pulled back as she circled around me and quietly feel asleep. I wrapped around her and felt my body giving into sleep.
