Plot: The Subzero levels' (more like Press Start's) experience in Robtop's computer. Lore on how levels are made and given a personality, as well as how they are edited.
Will post an explanation "notes" chapter after this.

Setting down my things, I turned on my computer again. After Fingerdash had gone, I had to start working on the next update.
But first, the spinoff... I had to work on Subzero. I had already picked out the songs a while back. I just had to build levels for them.
I just don't know if I wanted to take on the responsibility of caring for 3 more levels. I didn't even know how old they were going to be...
I shook my head. As the developer of this game, I had no choice. I had to do this. Thus, I took a deep breath and started work.

(in the dream)
The computer screen flashed brightly, the lines of code blending and swirling like a portal. I reached out to touch it. The moment my finger brushed the monitor, my vision filled with white, and I was sucked into the screen, falling, down...
I landed with a thump on soft, flowy grass. The landscape seemed familiar. Is this... my game?
I stood up and started walking, picking up pace into a run. Trees dotted the field, leaves rustling in the wind. As I ran around the area, I saw flowers and mushrooms, items I didn't hesitate to pick.
As I placed them in my pockets, I felt something shift. A value jumped from zero to one, the number of items in each slot.
Immediately, I saw the variables in my mind's eye. I imagined adding a second mushroom to the count, increasing it to two. To my surprise, a second mushroom appeared in my hand.
Wow, I thought. I can change these numbers.
A butterfly streaked past my face, then another. I followed them with my eyes, willing them to multiply. Soon, the two insects turned into five, their delicate wings beating softly in the breeze. I smiled.
I walked over to the edge of a cliff, looking off into the distance. I thought to myself, why not fly? So fly I did.
A tweak to gravity, a tweak to speed. I was zipping through the skies. I flew to the top of mountains, and dived down to touch the sea. A fish jumped out of the water, I turned it into a whole school. Laughing, I dived into the water to follow them, letting the crystal clear coolness wash over me.
Coming up onto the shore, I ascended back into the sky. It was dark, now. I saw the orange glow of a town not far away, and picked up pace towards it.
Landing up on a dark green roof, I let myself slowly descend into an alleyway. The streets were busy, and I could hear the shouts of shopkeepers advertising their wares.
I explored the roads, interacting with the other characters there. Occasionally, I added some coins to my inventory to buy some trinkets or food.
After a while, I felt myself getting tired. I sat under a low ledge to take a rest, admiring the sights and sounds around me.
Ah, isn't it beautiful? I thought to myself. I took another bite of a snack, savouring the taste of the virtual delicacy.
Just then, I felt something strange around my legs. I looked down and realised that my body had sunk into the floor. I couldn't move, and couldn't get up.
