The portal was opened on the other side, the light taking them to Maria's home.

The moon palace.

Rowan's eyes brushed by the well-lit hallways, accompanied by smooth shining beige-coloured marble floors and high ceilings with crystals of chandeliers, as well as high windows with curtains hanging on both sides

Maria's eyes brushed against the blue ones that she had grown fond of.

She saw him standing near the door of the hall, with a neutral face staring at her.

"Haleth!" She said excitingly, running across the stairs, throwing herself on him with a tight hug.

"Hello, Princess," Haleth whispered, hugging her back before pulling away.

She'd known him for nine years, and despite the serious atmosphere Haleth put on, she grew up fond of him. Her role model. He became the second man She'd look up to. Aside from her father.

Haleth's eyes rested on the four who descended the stairs, his face betraying a hint of confusion.

"Haleth, this is Rowan Dulkwood, Zephyr Heiranni, and you know these two," she introduced.

"Guys, this Haleth Zethrim Faylkaz," she said, grinning. "A water-awakener and my training Master. Ever since you know," she shrugged, the others knowing the rest.

Zephyr and Rowan greeted Haleth, accompanied by a little chatter.

"Are you finally done with your research or discovery, whatever you called it?" She asked as they walked out of the portal hall.

Colderia took Rowan to meet the King and The Queen, Zephyr went straight to his chamber, and Ashton went to the stables where he'd left Blayze.

"I have been collecting information. Decoding ancient books of the guardians," he breathed out, looking ahead, his hands folded behind him.

"And what did you find?" She asked eagerly.

"One thing that caught my attention was that you can fight darkness with darkness." He blurted out, locking eyes with her, as they stood before their usual hangspot.

"What?" Her brows furrowed. "Yeah, I get that I wield both light and darkness within me, but what?"

"You've fought off a demon, haven't you?" He asked calmly. His face betrayed confidence and seriousness as if what he discovered was he'd already seen coming.

"How did you know?"

"It was only a matter of time." He said. "No one knows the real reason why a Moonwalker hadn't appeared for the last three hundred years. But," his eyes narrowed. "In order to keep the balance of things, you shouldn't overuse one power over another. And most importantly when the opponent is a powerful demon, you need to be able to use both light and darkness. Simultaneously,"

Maria blinked, staring at him. "You want me to lose control? To use power, driven by hatred, anger, and everything bad?" She scoffed dryly. "You know how many people I've killed using that?!"

"Think about it," he breathed out. Her fuming eyes mirrored his calm ones. "That was the first thing you used after your awakening. And if you didn't contain it," he shrugged, the gravity of what could happen hanging heavily in the air between them. "But you did."

"After hurting enough people," she gritted out, lowering her glare.

"They were bad people," he retorted, emphasizing the 'bad'.

"That doesn't justify it!"

"Look, Maria," Haleth whispered, resting a hand on her shoulder. "There's always an opposite of everything. That's how things always are,"
