Bakugou had always admired your strength and independence. You were the kind of person who faced challenges head-on, never letting anything bring you down. So, when he first saw you cry, it shattered something inside him. It was a big deal; you never cried.
That day started like any other, but the news hit you like a freight train. Milo, your beloved dog of 13 years, had passed away. Your parents' somber voices on the phone lingered in your mind as you rushed out of class, ignoring the concerned looks from your classmates in Class 1-B. You didn't even register where you were going; all you knew was that you needed to escape.
After classes ended, Bakugou had a nagging feeling in his gut. He made his way to Class 1-B, searching for you. "Oi. Where's Y/N?" he asked, looking around for any sign of you.
Monoma glanced up from his desk, his expression serious. "She ran out of here with her phone and bag. Didn't say where she was going."
A surge of worry coursed through Bakugou. He didn't hesitate; he turned and headed straight to Class 1-B dorms as it was the only place he knew where you were. He goes through the flight of stairs and reaches your dorm by the third floor hallway. He knocked on your door, his heart pounding. "Y/N! Open up!"
There was no answer, just silence. He pressed his ear against the door and could faintly hear muffled sobs. "Damn it," he muttered under his breath, feeling a surge of urgency. He pushed the door open, finding you curled up on your bed, tears streaming down your face.
"Y/N!" he exclaimed, rushing to your side. The sight of you in pain made his chest ache. "What the hell happened?"
You looked up at him, your eyes red and puffy. "It's... Milo. He's gone," you managed to choke out, your voice breaking.
Bakugou's heart dropped. Milo had been a part of your life for so long. He wished he could erase the pain from your memory. "Shit...I- I'm sorry," he stammered, sitting down beside you on the bed. "It's not fair."
You nodded, wiping your tears with the back of your hand. "I just... I thought I'd have more time with him."
"Yeah, well, it sucks," he said, his voice low. He hesitated for a moment before pulling you into a tight embrace. "But you're not alone, okay? I'm here."
Your tears continued to fall, but you found comfort in his presence. "I just didn't want to burden you with this," you whispered.
Bakugou scoffed, pulling back to look you in the eyes. "You think you can get rid of me that easily? No way. You mean too much to me." His gaze softened as he brushed your hair back from your face. "Let it out. I'm not going anywhere."
With his encouragement, you let the tears flow freely, and he held you tightly, whispering comforting words into your ear. As you cried, you felt a weight lift off your shoulders. In that moment, Bakugou wasn't just the explosive hero everyone knew; he was your rock, helping you navigate through your grief.
Eventually, as your sobs subsided, you pulled away slightly, sniffling. "Thank you, Kat'ski. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"Just don't make a habit of this crying thing, alright?" He smirked, but the softness in his eyes betrayed the seriousness of his words. "You're strong. Remember that."
You nodded, grateful for his unwavering support. While you still felt the ache of loss, you knew you wouldn't have to face it alone. With Bakugou by your side, you could start to heal.
