His Fear

You never thought you'd see the day when Bakugou Katsuki, one of the most fearless, determined people you knew, would ever show even a flicker of fear. But that day came, and it took you by surprise.

It all started when Class 1-A and Class 1-B were invited to a theme park to unwind after an intense week of training. Everyone was excited, eager to let loose and have some fun. Bakugou, being his usual stubborn self, acted indifferent about the trip, but you knew he was looking forward to it in his own way.

"Let's hit the biggest rides first!" Kirishima shouted as the group entered the park, already making a beeline for the tallest, fastest rollercoaster.

Everyone was hyped, including you. Bakugou, who normally loved a good adrenaline rush, was oddly quiet as you all walked towards the massive coaster. You glanced over at him, noticing how he was walking a little slower than usual, his eyes fixed on the towering structure ahead.

"You okay, Katsuki?" you asked, nudging him playfully.

"Tch, 'course I'm fine," he grumbled, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets. "Why wouldn't I be?"

You shrugged, thinking maybe he was just in one of his moods. But as you all reached the line for the rollercoaster, Bakugou suddenly halted, eyes narrowing at the ride as the screams of people flying down the tracks echoed through the park.

"I'll sit this one out," he said nonchalantly, crossing his arms over his chest.

You blinked in surprise. "What? You're not gonna ride? You love this kind of stuff!"

Bakugou avoided your gaze, glaring at the ground instead. "I just don't feel like it today. Not a big deal."

You weren't buying it. Something was up. "Katsuki..." you began, stepping closer to him, trying to figure out what was going on.

Kirishima, hearing the conversation, stopped and looked back at Bakugou. "Come on, man! You're not scared, are you?"

Bakugou's eye twitched. "Shut up, Shitty Hair. I'm not scared of anything."

But his reaction only confirmed your suspicions. You tilted your head, genuinely curious now. "Wait... are you actually afraid of rollercoasters?"

Bakugou scowled, clearly irritated by the situation. "It's not the damn rollercoaster," he muttered under his breath. "It's the heights."

Your eyes widened. Heights? Bakugou Katsuki, the guy who's always flying through the air with his explosions, is afraid of heights?

You were careful not to laugh, knowing how much Bakugou hated feeling vulnerable, but you couldn't help but smile a little. "Hey, it's okay," you said softly, touching his arm. "Everyone's scared of something."

Bakugou clenched his jaw, clearly frustrated with himself. "It's stupid," he muttered, still not meeting your gaze. "I just hate not being in control up there. Can't blow my way out of a free fall."

You understood now. It wasn't just the height itself, Bakugou hated the feeling of being helpless, like he couldn't control what was happening. In battle, he was always in charge, always in control. But on a rollercoaster, there was nothing he could do to stop it.

"Well, you don't have to go if you don't want to," you said, giving his arm a reassuring squeeze. "We can hang out down here. Besides, I'd rather be with you anyway."

Bakugou shot you a sideways glance, his expression softening just a bit. "Yeah? You're not gonna ride with them either?"

You shook your head. "Nah. Not if you're not there."

He let out a small huff, clearly relieved but trying to play it cool. "Fine. But don't go thinking I'm some kinda coward."

"I would never," you teased, leaning in to press a quick kiss to his cheek.

As the rest of the group boarded the coaster, you and Bakugou found a quiet bench nearby to sit on, watching as the ride shot up into the sky. You noticed the way Bakugou's eyes followed the tracks, his body tensing slightly as the coaster reached its peak. He didn't say anything, but you could tell how much it bothered him.

"Hey," you said gently, getting his attention. "You face your fears all the time, Katsuki. You're the bravest person I know."

He grumbled something under his breath, but you could see the faint blush creeping up his neck. "Whatever," he muttered. "It's not that big of a deal."

You smiled, leaning your head on his shoulder. "It is to me. Thanks for telling me."

Bakugou didn't say anything, but his hand found yours, gripping it tightly as the coaster roared back into the station. Maybe he didn't like showing weakness, but in this small moment, you felt closer to him than ever. Even the strongest heroes had their fears, and it was okay to let someone in.

After a while, Bakugou finally relaxed, leaning back against the bench with a sigh. "Next time, we're doing something I'm good at," he said, a little more like his usual self.

"Like what?" you asked with a grin.

"Anything that doesn't involve heights," he shot back, earning a laugh from you.

You spent the rest of the day avoiding the rides that triggered Bakugou's fear, opting for games and less intense activities. He was back to his confident, cocky self, and though he didn't mention his fear again, you could tell he appreciated your support.

And maybe, just maybe, Bakugou Katsuki wasn't quite as invincible as he seemed. But that made you love him even more.
