It was a typical Friday night, it was now that time of the week where you and Bakugou have decided to do your weekly sleepovers in each other's dorms. You were lounging in your dorm room, sitting cross-legged on the bed while aimlessly scrolling through TikTok. Bakugou, sprawled beside you, was in a surprisingly talkative mood, going on about his day and how a familiar annoying friend that had gotten on his nerves.
"I mean, can you believe that idiot Dunce Face-he short-circuited again during the assembly meeting! And now Aizawa's gonna make us all do extra drills because of it. Like it's my fault that dumbass can't handle his own quirk," Bakugou grumbled, his voice full of frustration. He waved his hands animatedly as if reliving the irritation of the moment.
You, however, had long zoned out, eyes glued to your phone screen, mindlessly scrolling through TikTok videos. Bakugou continued to rant, completely unaware that your attention had drifted off.
Bakugou paused mid-sentence, his sharp instincts catching on to your lack of reaction. His ruby eyes flickered towards you, noticing how your head remained buried in your phone.
"Oi, are you even listening to me?" he asked, voice low but tinged with playful annoyance.
You hummed absently, still scrolling, not even fully processing his words.
Bakugou's eyes narrowed dangerously, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Tch, what, some stupid TikTok is more important than me, huh?" he teased, though you didn't pick up on it.
Growing more annoyed, he leaned in closer. "Maybe I should just blow your phone up to get your attention."
Still no response. That's when his smirk grew mischievous. Bakugou grabbed a pillow from beside him, weighed it in his hand for a moment, then launched it directly at your head.
The soft thump as it hit you pulled you out of your social media trance. "Hey!" you yelped, whipping your head around to face him, eyes wide in surprise.
Bakugou smirked, eyes glinting with mischief. "That got your attention."
You blinked, staring at him in disbelief. "Oh, so that's how it is, huh?" Without waiting for a response, you grabbed the nearest pillow, a much larger one, and threw it at him with all your might.
Bakugou caught it mid-air, his smirk widening. "You wanna play that game?" He jumped off the bed, tossing the pillow back at you, and the room exploded into chaos. Pillows were flying in every direction, both of you laughing as the lighthearted battle ensued.
You dodged his throws, hurling pillows back with precision. "Take that, you dumb porcupine!" you shouted, giggling uncontrollably.
"You're gonna regret that!" Bakugou growled playfully, grabbing another pillow and charging at you. You squealed, trying to escape, but his reflexes were too fast. Before you could react, you were tackled back onto the bed, pillows raining down on you.
The pillow fight reached its climax when you both collapsed onto the bed, panting and laughing. You found yourself lying on top of him, your head resting against his chest, feeling the rise and fall of his breathing.
"I win," you muttered triumphantly, still out of breath.
Bakugou chuckled beneath you, shaking his head. "Yeah, right. I totally let you win."
You nestled into his chest, feeling the comforting warmth of the moment. His arms wrapped loosely around you, holding you close as the laughter faded, leaving only the gentle sound of your breathing.
After a few minutes of silence, Bakugou's voice dropped, unusually soft. "You know... I don't do stuff like this with anyone else."
Curious, you looked up at him. "What do you mean?"
He shrugged lightly, his hand absentmindedly tracing patterns on your back. "I don't really relax like this. It's different with you."
A small smile tugged at your lips. "So, you don't throw pillows at anyone else?"
Bakugou let out a quiet snort, his expression softening as he met your gaze. "Nope. Just you."
You rested your head back against his chest, comforted by the warmth of his body and the steady beat of his heart. "I'm glad you do. Being like this is... nice."
"Yeah," he agreed quietly, his arm tightening around you slightly. "It is."
In the peaceful stillness of your dorm room, surrounded by the evidences of your playful pillow fight, you felt a deep sense of closeness. Though Bakugou didn't always voice his feelings, moments like this reminded you just how much he cared.
Sighing happily, you nestled closer. "Thanks for always being here with me, Kat."
Bakugou hummed softly, his fingers continuing their gentle path along your back. "Always."
