The second day of your much-needed week off had arrived, and after the chaos of training and study, you and Bakugou were eager for a change of pace. For a while now, both of you had been planning something more relaxing but challenging enough to satisfy your need for adventure, a hike up the infamous Mt. Fuji.
Musutafu was just an hour away from Mt. Fuji by train, and after packing all the essentials for the trip, you were excited to finally get started. Climbing gear, snacks, extra clothes, water bottles, it was all carefully stashed away in your bags. You both made sure to bring enough to keep yourselves hydrated and energized, while also keeping things light for the hike.
"Got everything?" Bakugou asked, glancing at your backpack as he slung his own over his shoulder.
You double-checked, patting your bag. "Yep. Climbing gear, snacks, extra clothes, water bottles, we're all set."
"Good." He smirked. "Last thing we need is you whining about being hungry halfway up the mountain."
You shot him a playful glare. "I don't whine. I suggest we eat."
Bakugou rolled his eyes but didn't say anything, just grabbed your hand and started leading you toward the train station. The city streets were still quiet, the early morning sun just starting to rise. You yawned as you fell into step beside him, feeling a bit drowsy from the early wake-up call.
When you reached the station, the train platform was fairly empty, giving you a peaceful start to the trip. You boarded quickly, finding a seat by the window. Bakugou sat beside you, his usual stoic expression in place, though you could tell he was excited too.
"Never thought we'd be climbing Mt. Fuji together," you mused, gazing out the window as the train began to move.
Bakugou shrugged, leaning back in his seat. "Why not? If anyone can handle it, it's us."
You smiled. "True. It'll be a good workout."
He smirked. "Better than sitting around doing nothing, that's for sure."
As the train rolled through the city and into the countryside, the scenery began to change. Buildings gave way to trees, and the hustle and bustle of Musutafu faded into quiet, rolling hills. You leaned your head against the window, watching as the world passed by in a blur of green and gold, the early morning light casting a warm glow over the landscape.
"You're gonna fall asleep," Bakugou muttered, glancing over at you.
You hummed, closing your eyes. "Just resting my eyes..."
Bakugou chuckled softly under his breath. "Sure, whatever you say, idiot."
Despite your determination to stay awake, the gentle rocking of the train lulled you into a peaceful doze. Beside you, Bakugou crossed his arms and leaned his head back, eyes closing as well. The train was warm and quiet, and the two of you easily drifted off, the excitement of the hike temporarily forgotten in favor of a much-needed nap.
It felt like only minutes had passed when you felt a nudge on your shoulder. Groggily, you opened your eyes to find Bakugou leaning over you, his face inches from yours.
"Wake up," he grumbled. "We're almost there."
You blinked, still half-asleep. "Already?"
"Yeah," Bakugou said, sitting back in his seat. "Hope you're ready."
You stretched, trying to shake off the lingering drowsiness. Outside the window, you could see the towering form of Mt. Fuji in the distance, its snow-capped peak glistening in the morning light. The sight immediately jolted you awake, a surge of excitement running through you.
