The day was here. After months of talking about it, planning, and packing, you and Bakugou had finally taken the plunge.
Today, you were officially moving into your new shared apartment. The place wasn't too big, but it was perfect for the three of you (KEM included), enough space to stretch out, but cozy enough to make it feel like home.
KEM, your energetic mixed-breed dog, seemed to be taking the move in stride, bounding between boxes and occasionally trying to "help" by dragging random items out of them. His wagging tail was a constant reminder of the new energy this apartment would hold.
Bakugou had insisted on handling the heavy lifting, though you weren't about to let him do it all himself. You were determined to pull your weight, even if it meant carrying boxes that were almost too big for you to handle.
The moving truck had already arrived, your parents had pitched in to help, and even Mitsuki had shown up, food in hand, ready to make sure you two didn't starve in the chaos.
You stepped inside the apartment, setting down a box full of books as Bakugou dragged in another one, sweat glistening on his forehead. The place was empty, just the basics: a couch, a small dining table, a couple of chairs, and a TV. The bare essentials, ready to be filled with memories.
"Where the hell do you want this?" Bakugou grumbled, holding a box labeled Fragile.
"Uhh... let's put it in the living room for now," you said, brushing a strand of hair from your face. "I think the bedroom's already starting to get crowded."
He scoffed, but moved over to the living room anyway, setting the box down with exaggerated care.
Meanwhile, KEM barked excitedly, leaping onto the couch as if to claim it as its own. Bakugou shot KEM a look. "Oi, mutt. Get down before you mess it up."
KEM responded by wagging ita tail even harder, its tongue lolling out as it looked between the two of you.
You laughed and scratched behind KEM's ears. "He's just as excited as we are. Let him enjoy it for a bit."
As you began unpacking more boxes, your mom walked into the apartment, wiping her hands on her jeans. "Looks like you've got it all under control," she said, looking around with approval.
"Yeah, we're managing," you said, glancing around at the scattered piles of clothes and books. "I think it's coming together."
Before you could say anything else, the doorbell rang. You turned your head, confused. "Who's that?"
Bakugou sighed and rolled his eyes, muttering something under his breath about his mom's constant interference. "You should probably get that," he said, nudging you toward the door.
You opened it to reveal none other than Mitsuki, standing with a large bag full of food and leftovers from their house.
"Surprise!" she said brightly. "I figured you two would need a lunch break."
"Old hag," Bakugou groaned from the living room, looking up from his task. "We're fine."
Mitsuki shot him a dirty look, hands on her hips. "Not with all this moving around. You'll burn yourselves out and then who will feed you? You think I'd let my asshole of a son live here without making sure he's fed?" She passed the bag to you, and you couldn't help but smile. The smell of fried rice and grilled vegetables filled the air.
KEM immediately started sniffing the air, his tail wagging even more furiously as he followed Mitsuki into the kitchen area.
"Looks like KEM's ready for a break, too," you teased, watching as Bakugou's mom patted the dog on the head.
