A/N: This chapter is following the last chapter but from Amber's perspective and only in the beginning. I'm debating writing about Tara and Amber and the others at a little karaoke night, which may or may not involve some fun drama but I want y'all's opinion. Do I do it or nah? Let me know. Otherwise, enjoy :)

Amber woke up with a cramp in her neck and Maddie standing over her with confusion written all over. The ravenette squinted, the sunlight was flashing bright through the windows in the living room. Images from the night before flashed through her mind, and she freaked out for a moment, remembering that her and Tara ended up coming over to hers after their activities were finished. She remembered them following asleep on the couch together, and for a moment almost had a heart attack, thinking that Maddie caught them, but when she didn't feel the short haired woman's body next to hers, she realize that the older woman likely left. That, of course, did give her a new reason to worry, but that she would deal with later, since the main worry to deal with was Maddie standing over her, eyes directly on her.
"What time is it?" Amber asked, voice cracking, and slowly sat up, rubbing her face.
"It's 7:20 in the morning," Maddie informed. "Jade's up and getting ready for school. She had breakfast already. We're just waiting on you."
The ravenette nodded, exhausted. Jade had school in 40 minutes and her and Maddie also had things to take care of in the early morning.
"Can you make me some coffee? I'm gonna go shower real quick, and then I'll be ready to go." The raven head said, getting up from the couch and rushing to her bedroom, grabbing a change of clothes before slipping into the bathroom.

To ensure that nobody interrupted her, she locked the door, before beginning to take off her clothes. As she did so, she noticed the few hickeys that were left on her chest. Of course it was Tara's doing, she was the only one that really liked to leave her mark. Even Maddie rarely did it, said she wasn't a fan of it, so there was no debate over who left these marks on her. Amber started the shower, and as she waited for the water to warm up, decided to read the text sent to her by Tara this morning. As her eyes skimmed through the words, a smile appeared on her face, and she was just relieved to know that things between them were okay and that Tara didn't feel weird about what happened. The other thing, though, was that Amber was worried about where it would lead them, since they did only recently get back in contact, and both of them were with someone, which could get sticky, really quick. This was, no doubt, going to be a rather complex situation they would be dealing with when her and Tara finally talk about it. Though, the other question there was if they would talk about it. Whatever, that would be something she would deal with at a later time, right now she needed to worry about getting her daughter to school, as Maddie was already on the other side of the door, knocking and calling out her name.

When she was done with her shower, which only took about ten minutes, Amber quickly dried herself off and put on a shirt and some underwear, before opening the door. Her blonde friend was on the other side as suspected, with a cup of coffee and a phone in her hands, waiting.
"Thank you for the coffee." Amber said as she grabbed the mug from her friend's hand and practically chugged the coffee.
"Yeah, you're welcome." Maddie looked at her with a weird expression. "Do you want to tell me why you were sleeping on the couch? And how you ended up on it in the first place?"
Shit, Amber was not prepared for that. How could she explain to her partner ish that the reason why was because she snuck out to go see another woman and then ended up having sex with her? Oh, and that that woman was also her ex girlfriend, who'd been helping her the last two months with a situation involving a couple of cops and Silas?
"I couldn't sleep so I figured I might go smoke a cig. And when I came back, I didn't want to wake you so I just sat on the couch. I honestly don't remember falling asleep, so that's why I didn't come back." Amber lied through her teeth, but it was better than telling Maddie the actual reason. "Besides, you would kill me if I came back in and woke you up."
The blonde gave her a look and flipped her off, "Fuck you, River, I wouldn't have killed you. I'd be annoyed, but that's it."
Amber shrugged, "Whatever you say."
