"This is your best option, Mr Garcia." Amber said as she sat at the table with her boss and a lawyer on their team, facing the man and his lawyer. "We're not going to sit here and chitchat about this deal if there's nothing to gain from it, which, there really isn't. I don't see what you can offer us."
"There is a lot I can offer you and this company, Ms Freeman." Mr Garcia replied, a determined smirk painted over his face. "I can offer this company so much growth and money that you might just become better than Amazon and Google."
Amber laughed, hardly knowing if she heard that right. "Oh yeah? How exactly would you do that, Mr Garcia? What do you have that can get us to that point? Because from what I've seen, there really isn't much to indicate that you could do so."
Her boss, Mr Lee, watched with a pleased look, making her feel good about her presentation throughout the last hour. This man that was trying to do business with them was, well, nothing. At least he was nothing good. According to her boss and to the paperwork in front of her, he'd been grasping at straws just to try and get people to do business with him, yet nobody had the desire to, and for good reason.A knock came on the door of the meeting room they were in, and Mr Lee's assistant peeked in, looking at the ravenette. Amber had still not gotten used to her always being around and passing along messages.
"Ms Freeman, I'm sorry to interrupt, but there is someone who wants to speak with you." She said, causing Amber to furrow her brows.
"Tell them I'm in a meeting and to come back later." The ravenette was confused, as she knew she had put the meeting on her schedule for everyone to see.
"I'm sorry, I don't think I can do that. They say it's urgent." Amber shook her head, sighing. The people on her team knew better than to interrupt her in a meeting, and they knew to wait until she was done.
"Tell them that I will speak to them when-" Before she could finish, Sam burst through the door, eyes directly on Amber. "Sam-sorry, Detective Carpenter. What are you doing here?""I'll tell you full details later. Right now I need you to come with me, it's urgent." Sam replied, glancing at Mr Garcia who clearly thought that this was a bad thing. "I know who you are, Garcia. Before you say anything, I'd like to remind you that I have eyes and ears everywhere watching your every move."
"Oh, thank you for reminding me of what else I wanted to tell Mr Garcia." Amber said with a smile, turning back to face the man. "Listen, you might think that you can manipulate me and my boss into doing business with you, but I have to say, it's really dumb of you to think that way. You have nothing to offer, especially not with your record. I mean, with multiple complaints of employee mistreatment, sexual harassment, and fraud? That's not the kind of man we'd want to do business with, and I doubt any other company would want to as well. Besides, you have no money. Your bank records show that you've filed for bankruptcy and have sold more than half your assets. I don't know who you think you are or what you think you're doing, but this contract you've brought to us to try and get us to sign it..." Amber picked up the paper and ripped it in half, throwing it in the trash nearby. "...it won't happen. I suggest you leave and stop with the nonsense of trying to get people to work with you, it won't happen. As far as the legality side of things goes, your contract was also nowhere near ethical. Now, please leave, I'd really hate to see my good friend Detective Carpenter have to put you in cuffs and escort you out of our building."Mr Garcia had an angry look on his face and slammed his fist on the table, angrily getting up from his seat. He was glaring at Amber with a deadly look, which the ravenette paid no mind to. Sam gave him the same look back, which urged the man to move out of the room faster, slamming the door shut. His lawyer sighed, clearly exhausted from having to deal with Mr Garcia on a regular basis. Amber didn't blame him, nobody really did. They would've been tired too if they were in his position. The lawyer gave an apologetic look to them all and left the meeting room, making sure he closed it lightly, unlike his client. Only the two women and Amber's boss and the company lawyer, who no longer had anything left to do here, so he also got up and left, leaving the three alone. Mr Lee was looking down at the table, thinking something over while Sam and Amber watched him, periodically looking at each other.
