The midday sun bathed the village in warm light, casting long shadows as the lively sounds of children playing filled the air. Amidst this serene scene, a peculiar figure stood in the village square, drawing confused glances from everyone around him. Cloaked in a hood and wearing a large, floppy hat, the figure gestured wildly, as if telling some grand, invisible audience the story of his heroic exploits.

[Subaru]: “And then, with a single swift movement, I saved the day! You could even call me the legendary hero of this world!”

Subaru's voice boomed, despite speaking to absolutely no one. His arms were flailing in dramatic gestures, and his face beamed with exaggerated pride.

Y/N stood a few feet away, one eyebrow raised, his lips tugged in a mix of amusement and boredom. He crossed his arms, watching the strange spectacle in front of him.

[Y/N]: “And I thought I was the crazy one.”

Y/N muttered under his breath, a heavy sigh escaping his lips.

Subaru’s strange behavior had garnered the attention of the village children, who gathered around, their faces scrunched up in confusion. One of them, a small boy with wide eyes, tugged on Subaru’s cloak.

[Boy]: “Mister, why are you dressed so funny?”

Another child giggled.

[Girl]: “Yeah! Are you pretending to be some kind of wizard?”

Subaru turned to face them with a dramatic spin, pointing a finger at the sky.

[Subaru]: “Oh, my dear innocent children, I am not pretending to be anything! I am on a mission, you see. A top-secret mission that requires the utmost stealth and cunning!”

His tone was so serious that the children blinked in surprise. That seriousness lasted only a moment before they broke into giggles and, without warning, started pulling at his hat and cloak. “Let’s see who’s under there!” they cheered.

[Subaru]: “Ah! No, no, my cover’s been blown! I haven’t even started my mission, and I’ve already been compromised!”

Subaru shouted in mock despair, his hat flying off his head as the kids tugged on his outfit.

Y/N stood there, yawning with exaggerated disinterest. His lower spirit, Yshra, materialized from within his chest, her soft light glowing brightly as she darted around in excitement. Her energy was palpable, as if she was joining in with the playful chaos around them.

[Y/N]: “You know, Yshra,”

Y/N said lazily, rubbing the back of his neck.

[Y/N]: “Even though you’re a spirit, sometimes I think you’re the most normal one around here.”
