Chapter 2: Forge your Own ID

Naghihintay na ako kay Bryan sa examination room. Kahapon, nalaman ko na sa exam na ito, may nakukuhang level ang mga estudyante. It is indicated on their ID cards to see if they're improving. The maximum level in this examination is level 50. Sa ngayon, si Clauss ang may pinakamagandang ID sa buong academy. Clauss' ID is a shiny, burning red card with a red dragon holding a large fireball. Level 31 na siya.

Whereas, Selene already reached level 25 and her ID is a shiny, green card with a green dragon surrounded by water as the background. Nabanggit nina Frances ang isa pang estudyante na may dragon sa background ng ID. Si Akira Kouji, third year mula sa kabilang section. He's an earth power user who has reached level 29. His ID card is a shiny, golden brown one with an earth dragon surrounded by thick earth like walls.

I looked around the examination room. It was almost as huge as a coliseum with a battlefield-like stage in the center. Nakatayo ako sa stage nang dumating si Bryan.

"I'll give you a small background about this Academy first," wika niya nang makalapit sa 'kin. Tahimik akong nakinig. "Wonderland Magical Academy is registered as a normal school. Tago ang lugar na ito, malayo sa mga ordinaryong tao para maiwasan ang gulo. We're extraordinary and it's human nature to judge others who are different from them. Some might call us demons, witches and monsters. That's why this academy was established, to help students control their powers and live a normal life as much as possible."

"But there's a problem. There's one academy with a goal that opposes ours. It's the Dark Wizard's Academy. They're evil, greedy of power. They want and plan to annihilate ordinary humans and even power users, too. We're here to prevent that from happening. Dalawampung kilometro mula rito, sa likod ng malaking bundok na tinatawag na North Mountain, makikita mo ang Dark Wizard's Academy," dagdag niya.

Napakunot-noo ako sa pagkalito. Tinawanan ako ni Bryan dahil nahalata niya na naguguluhan ako. "Anyway, you'll understand soon. Sa ngayon, kailangan mo munang mapalabas ang ID mo. I will leave you here for four hours. Try to discover your power ability. If you can't release your power then your last chance will be on the monthly examination, ten days from now," sabi niya, at naglakad na palayo.

He turned to me. "Advice? Concentrate and feel it. When you feel like there's something different and unusual with you, that will be your first clue on what your ability is. Use your mind, body and emotions. These could help you," he said and left.

Hindi na ako nakapagtanong pa. Paano ko gagamitin ang isip ko? Huhulaan ko ba? Kailangan ko bang isipin na kaya kong lumipad? Na kaya kong maglabas ng apoy at tubig katulad nina Clauss at Selene? I sighed in frustration. Umupo ako sa sahig. I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate but I couldn't.

Wala akong maramdamang kakaiba sa 'kin. Naiinis na ginulo ko ang buhok ko at sumigaw ng malakas na parang nababaliw. May tumawa sa 'di kalayuan na ikinagulat ko. I opened my eyes and looked around. Nakita ko ang isang lalaki na papalapit sa 'kin. Ngayon ko lang siya nakita. Natitiyak kong hindi kami magkaklase.

"Need any help?" he sneered.

"You'll help me?" I asked, doubtfully. To my surprise, he nodded. He sat in front of me, grinning.

"What's your name?" tanong ko.

"Troy Kazuoko, ice controller. Third year, second section," sagot niya. Sinabi ko ang pangalan ko at inilahad ang kanang kamay para makipagkamay. Tinitigan lang niya ang kamay ko. Napapahiyang ibinaba ko ang aking kamay. "Paano mo ako matutulungan? Bibigyan mo ako ng tips?" tanong ko.
