~Chapter 3~ Seeing him
~Zayn's POV~
For 15 minutes I lay there on the floor in the canteen. No one comes to help me, not even a teacher. They are afraid. Harry's father rules the school. He never gets in trouble because of that. I hate it.
Suddenly Liam runs through the doors, his eyes go wide if he sees me. "Zayn!" He yells and sits down next to me. He embraces me in a thight hug, already knowing what happened. That's also the moment I loose it. I break down crying into his arms, my face buried in his neck.
"Why Liam? What did I do wrong?" I sob. "Why didn't he accept me?"
Liam picks me up from the floor and carries me to the nurse. "I don't now, Zayn, I really don't know." He whispers as he walks into the sickroom and lays me on the bed. Then he leaves to inform the nurse what happened. Meanwhile my thoughts go to the boy I saw in the canteen. He is beautiful. He looks like an angel. It's weird how he disappeared into thin air, but maybe it was my imagination again. Like with the boy in front of the house. That boy looked a lot like the one from in the canteen. Maybe it was the same boy, but that's not possible. No one disappears like that.
And then the happenings of this night. The ghosty light, what was that? A flashlight? That makes sence. It must have been a flashlight.
But what about the dead body? where is it? where is the blood? I try to think for an explanation for that too and soon I come up with one. The killer must have hide the body in the forest behind the house and then he cleaned up all the blood. I was sleeping in the closet than and didn't hear it. Maybe I should inform the police.
"Okay, honey, let me examine you." The nurse walks in with Liam trailing behind her. He gives me a weak smile before he walks to his class. I assume the nurse told him to go.
"All right, I can't do anything for you, but I'm going to write you a note , so you can leave the school and visit the doctor, okay?" The nurse says after she examined me. I nod, not that I'm going to go to the doctor. I have no money, I can't pay for a visit to the doctor. I stand up and hobble in the direction of the nurse's office.
"Here you go. I hope I see you tomorrow." She says after she handed me the note and gives me a weak smile. I mumble a quiet 'thank you' and walk to the school gates. There I give the note to the gatekeeper. He opens the gates for me, giving me a look of pity.
When I'm out of school I walk straight to the park, where my suitcase is still hidden underneath the bushes. I sit down under a tree and sigh. What do I have to do now?
First I decide to warn Liam that I'm no longer in school. I reach in my pocket to take my cellphone, but it isn't there. Quick I check my other pockets, but... nothing.
Where is it? I haven't used in school, so maybe it's in my suitcase. I stand up and pull my suitcase from under the bushes. I rummage the whole thing, but still nothing. There's only one place over where my cellphone can be.
The house.
I remember I laid the phone on the bedside table and after all the strange things that happened I didn't take it with me when I left. Now I have to go back and I really don't want to, but there's no alternative. My cellphone is the only thing I have left and I need it back, so I slide the suitcase back under the bushes and start to walk into the direction of the madhouse.
I'm about to walk into the street when I here someone calling me.
"Hey! Boy!"
I jump and turn around. In the garden of an old but drawn house stands a man. He has gray hair and a beard. He looks a bit like Santa. The man is looking at me with a worried look.
"Euhm... Me, sir?" I ask and he nods.
"Yes, you. What are you doing?" He asks.
"I was going to a house. I forgot something." I answer honestly and the man's eyes widen a bit.
"Wich house?" He asks and I give him a description of the house with the bullet holes in it. The man's eyes are bulging out now and he starts to panick.
"I warn you , son. Don't go in there. Don't even go into the street. The house is haunted. Last time someone went in there, he didn't came out. I beg you, don't go in there." The man s almost yelling now and I am confused. A haunted house? Pffft, ghost don't excist. Only in movies, but to please Santa's look alike I turn around.
"Okay, thank you for the warning, sir." I say and start to walk away. When I look back I see the man is mumbling something to himself before he disappears into his house. I stop walking and turn back around. What the old man doesn't know, won't bother him, so I start running into the street with the haunted house.
On the pavement I stop and look at the house. It's still exactly the same as yesterday evening, but now, in the daylight, you can see how poor condition the house is in. I sigh and open the frondoor. I'm still wary, but that's normal. I walk through the living room and go upstairs. The door of the light blue bedroom is still open, just like I left it. And there, on the bedside table, is my cellphone. I smile and pick it up, but as I turn back to the door, I see I'm not the only one in this room anymore.
There, in the door, stands the boy with the bleached blond hair.
