Chapter 11

Kay's P.O.V

Nothing interesting happened at school today, except from Shawn acting weird... I don't understand. One minute we are fine and the next minute he acts like he doesn't want to know me. Ugh, boys.

Anyway I was now at home with Nikki as we were getting ready for the party. She was wearing a tight patterned dress with black heels and I was wearing a floral skater dress with white converse.

It's now 6:30pm and there is a knock at the door. Nikki rushed out of my bedroom and down the stairs. "Eager to see Hayes ey??" I called down the stairs. "Shut up." She replied flatly before opening the door. "Hey, Nikki you look beautiful." I heard Hayes say from down stairs. I grabbed my bag and walked downstairs. I guess Nikki and Hayes had started walking as it was only Shawn left. He was leaning against the door as I walked towards him. "Evening." I said in a posh tone to break the silence. "Good evening, gorgeous." He replied taking my hand. I shut the door with my other hand. We walked down the road hand in hand before we caught up with Nikki and Hayes and he pulled his hand away from mine. Is he embarrassed of being seen with me?

Nik's P.O.V

We arrived at the party. Kayleigh, Hayes and I went to get some drinks, I don't know where Shawn had gone... "Hey Kayleigh!" Daniel shouted over the music as him and Dionne came over to us. "Hey, this is Nikki and Hayes." Kayleigh replied introducing us. "Hi!" I said. "Hey!" Hayes smiled. "Do you guys want to come and dance?" Dionne asked. "I'm okay thank you." I smiled. Hayes grabbed my hand and said "Yeah, I'll stay with Nik." "I'll dance." Kayleigh shrugged before laughing and heading towards the dancing bodies with Daniel and Dionne.

"Come on let's go outside." Hayes said pulling me towards the back door. "Okay." I said, laughing. We walked outside and sat on a bench in the garden, the music was quieter out here. We sat and talked for a while my head on his shoulder, his arm around my waist. "Let's go dance!" He said standing up, turning around and pulling me into him. He caught me off guard causing me to bump into him. My hands were on his chest. He put one hand on my waist and one against my cheek. This was it. It was happening. I lent in and so did he, the kiss was so gentle. I loved every moment of it. He pulled away and so did I, "Well..." He said, smiling. "Well." I said, smiling back at him. He grabbed my hand and we went back inside.

Shawn's P.O.V

I was talking to some girl I don't really know her name, to be honest I wasn't that interested in what she was saying. I was trying to listen! I just couldn't, there was nothing wrong with her. I don't even know why I wasn't interested she was pretty and had a great sense of humour but she was just... I don't even know.

I spotted Kayleigh dancing with Dionne. I smiled to myself before walking over to her. "Hey!" I shouted over the music. "Hi!" She shouted back. "It's loud do you want to go outside?" I asked. "What?! I can't hear you, let's go outside!" She shouted before telling Dionne where we were going. I laughed because she basically repeated what I had said. We walked out of the house and sat down on a brick wall.

Kay's P.O.V

"Yeah, I've already started to write my song." Shawn said. We were talking about our assignment in Performing Arts. "Oh really what's it about?" I questioned. "I'm not quite sure, it's about something but I can't quite put my finger on it." He replied but then something flashed through his eyes as if he had just thought of something. He stared at me before saying, "Let's go back inside..." "What, why?" I asked. "Because I'm bored." He replied. "Really! We're back to this again are we?! SHAWN WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!"
