Many say that, “Defense wins championships.” In the case  of Friday 21st, this was very true. Cedar Park defense, traditionally known as “Black Rain,” did a remarkable job Friday night. The defensive line began to push around the Lancaster offensive line, putting tons of pressure on the Tigers’ offense. And though Lancaster completed 9 of 12 passes in the first half, Cedar Park shrunk that number to 4 of 12 passes in the second half.

But as we all know, football includes all members of the team. Not only did the T-wolves win because of their dominant defense, they also had an  impressive offense. This includes quarterback Nate Grimm, who suffered an ankle injury early in the second half but unbelievably came back to play  later in the game. By simply returning, he kept the Timberwolves on track and helped spark his teammates’ confidence. Finally, Mikal Olson ran 14 yards for the clinching touchdown to beat the Lancaster Tigers 17 to 7.

Congratulations Timberwolves on the great win and best football season ever!
