Zoe's POV

"So what classes have we got today?" I asked Olivia and Riley the next morning at breakfast.

"We've got English, art, PE, music and then a free period last thing" Riley said, positively devouring her toast.

"Cool" I said.

When we had all finished our breakfast we walked to the English block and stood outside impatiently. I didn't get it, teachers would get extremely annoyed at you if you were late but if they were late it was 'okay' and 'acceptable'.

Finally the teacher arrived ten minutes late and the class piled in and took their seats.

"Today we have an English essay to write so if all of you could put everything away apart from your pencil cases" Mrs Parker, the English teacher instructed.

I didn't have an English book to put away so I sat in my seat as my classmates shuffled around with their backpacks.

"Good" Mrs Parker started handing out lined paper, "now I'd like you to write an essay about your father. Write about his job, your relationship with him, what you do together, all that kind of stuff"

I was shocked, not everyone had a father. Cough cough me. Was she completely ignorant?

"This paper is worth half of your English grade so I expect your best work" she said, "begin"

I looked down at my blank piece of paper and tapped the end of my pen against it as every other person in the class scribbled away. What was I supposed to do? I didn't have a dad, well I do. Everyone has a dad but that doesn't mean he's a good person that you want to write about.

I sighed I thought hard about what I could write about. What about Liam? He was the most 'dad like' out of all the boys. Yeah, I'd write about Liam.

My brother/ dad

My brother/ dad is called Liam Payne. I mean, I have four other 'guardians' but in my opinion Liam is the most father like. He, along with my other brothers: Niall, Zayn, Harry and Louis are in a band called one direction. They were formed on the xfactor by Simon Cowell and have since been signed by a record company and have produced their first album. In a months time they will be going on the 'up all night' tour. I will be joining them and can't wait since it will mean travelling to places I have never been before. We will be staying in the continents of Oceana, Europe and North America.

Because Liam is in a band his job is to sing. He has a great voice in my opinion and I love to listen to them practising at home. I have a great relationship with Liam and I know I can tell him anything, it is the same with the other boys but Liam is someone who will sit and listen quietly without interrupting. All the boys are special though: Louis can always make me smile, Niall will always be willing to do stupid stuff with me, Zayn will sit and talk for hours and Harry is just a nice person to be around. I wouldn't trade these boys for anything in the world, even a proper mum and dad, I have gotten used to their crazy lifestyle and finally realise that it is my life as well.

Liam worries about me a lot because I was bullied a bit at my old school and then received hate on Twitter. I didn't want to tell him about it but he found my laptop and saw what tweets were posted. I couldn't help but cry and he comforted me until I fell asleep.

Because of my past of abuse I often get nightmares, but one of the boys are always willing to sleep next to me which makes me feel safer. I haven't told them but whenever they don't sleep next to me I get a nightmare about my blood father, they are not as bad as others which is why I don't wake up crying or screaming but they do scare me and I end up not being able to sleep for the rest of the night.
