| Hiro's POV |

"Tadashi, you can't keep me from bot fighting, okay? I'm not a kid anymore! I'm old enough to care for myself," Hiro tells his brother for the millionth time. The whole reason he went to the park was to get away from his overprotective brother. And then he saw that weird girl who told him to look at the stars. Tadashi's voice brings Hiro out of his thoughts.

"Hiro, it's dangerous. I can't let you go off and get hurt. Can you imagine the pain Aunt Cass would feel if she lost one of us? She already lost Mom and Dad. We're all she has left."

Hiro looks away from Tadashi as the guilt overcomes him. The thought of Aunt Cass, sad and alone, was almost too much to think about. Not wanting to make his feelings obvious, he rolls his eyes. He takes a seat on the edge of his bed.

"And," Tadashi adds, "you have so much potential, Hiro. You're brilliant. Why don't you do something with your brain?"

Hiro shrugs. "I already know everything."

"I can guarantee that you don't -"

"Just drop it, okay? I'm never going to college," Hiro snaps. Tadashi doesn't say anything. He returns to the book that is on his lap. Hiro jumps up. "I'm starving, so I'm going to have some food." He quickly leaves the room.

Hiro quietly goes into the kitchen and makes himself a bowl of cereal. He grumbles to himself. Tadashi would never be proud of Hiro for what he can do now. He will never be good enough. As he pours the milk, he thinks about how to get around going to another bot fight. There's another one tomorrow night. He'll find a way to sneak out.
