We arrived at the doctors and we're waiting for the doctor to come out. Right on time a doctor walks out and calls "Miss Rizzoli"
Maura and I get up and follow her to the exam room. She says "my name is Dr. Alexander, I will do a few tests and scans to see how your baby is"
The ultrasound is the first thing to be done. I got to see my baby, the doctor said I am roughly 8 weeks along.
We did all the other tests and both the baby and I are healthy.
We get a photo of the ultrasound and book the next appointment.
We leave and go out to a dinner for breakfast. It sucks that I can't have coffee anymore though.
During our meal Maura asks "how are you feeling?"
I tell her "I'm excited but at the same time it just became real and I don't know anything about being a mother"
She says "nobody does at first but you learn and follow your instincts"
"Thanks Maura, I will tell some other people in four weeks about the baby as I want to get past the first trimester before they all find out" I tell her.
Both our phones ring and I answer "Rizzoli" and she answers "Isles", we have a new case. I guess it's time to work. We get in the car and head to the scene.
