*This part of the book starts off with the calm before the storm, so to speak. All of our heroes, except Parmo, are in one place and have to decide what to do—run away or face Emperor Guderian and Wulfram? "Grave Decisions" is very much an homage to "The Council of Elrond" chapter from The Fellowship of the Ring, which probably doesn't come as much of a surprise to fantasy fans!
*From there, our heroes split up and head out to face their fears. Caile is the first one to jump into the action, and his victory takes away Parmo's chance for victory, one of those subtle turns of fate that's going to drive Parmo to work even harder from here on out...
