Alexander Singh walked swiftly and silently down the corridor after departing the room where Goroshenko, Adjani and Adisa remained. From his cabin, he had set up a system to passively monitor the ship's communication system. He would only relay news of danger if and when it happened and only by mental link.

He arrived at his cabin and stepped in and quickly assembled his scanner. He had one part in a carry-case by the bed, another in the closet inside a jacket pocket, two or three pieces scattered elsewhere and a tablet computer. Prior to Aubrey Chase Chen's death, he had kept it assembled and hidden in suitcase. However, he couldn't risk it being found by housekeeping staff or detected by ship security.

His homemade scanner when operating could detect much of the ship-wide communications that had minimal encryption. The ship video camera system was easiest to detect but internal comms were easy to tap as well. What couldn't be received was hard-wired communications or military-grade encryption which covered most ship to shore and vice versa traffic. Singh could tap into the system directly and had in the past but AI security monitoring would be sure to pick up now.

One everything was set up on a table, he took a seat and was about to place an earpiece in when he heard a sound behind him. He turned not really expecting to see anything but when he did his mouth went agape.

"You?" he stammered. "But it can't be. You're dead!"

Orion moved with lightening speed before Singh could send out a warning. She reached a pale hand out and touched Singh's dark finger and said "Gotcha!"

A second later both Orion and Singh apported into nothingness.
