"Distance means so little when someone means so much"- unknown

"And this is the part where you kiss me" I said. Andre leaned closer. "Maybe it is. Do you want it on the lips or on your cheek?" "It depends..." "Well I will-" Rrrrriiiinnngggg!  Just then the alarm woke me up. I smiled. Its been a while ever since I've had a great dream. I rolled over to see Andre sleeping next to me. He looked so peaceful. "Oh sh*t!" I noticed I was half naked with only my bikini on. I couldn't seem to remember what happened last night. My cussing woke Andre up. "Wait where are you going?" He asked. "You're a jerk! You took advantage of me cause I was drunk! Oh gosh I hate house parties" I scolded. "Nompilo relax!" He jumped out of bed to stop me from running around the room like a headless chicken. He held my hand. "You're a virgin right?" I looked down. I hated telling people that, it was a secret I kept from most of my friends but Nosipho and Nolwazi knew. "Yes. But how do you know that?" I asked. I rushed back to the bed to search for blood on the sheet. "Gosh do you really think I'm a jerk? I'm not like all those other guys, I won't sleep with you without your permission" he said. "Now come back to bed and let's just relax. It Sunday" I stared at him. "You like staring hey, come on Nompi I know you want to" He batted his eyelashes. Gosh he looked so beautiful. I know guys can't be beautiful unless they're homosexual but Andre was just beautiful in a manly way. I put on his oversized tee and joined him in bed.

"Tell me about yourself? Why do you act like this?" "How do I act?" I asked. "That day at the restaurant, you acted uneasy around your mother. Aren't you supposed to feel comfortable?" "Well me and my mom have barely been on good terms. She used to give us attention and take us out on vacations but that all ended when my dad left. She hasn't been the same since" he tucked a strand of my weave behind my ear. "You know when my mom died, I had a happy place. I'd always imagine us together, happy. That made me heal faster" Me and my mom didn't get along well but I couldn't imagine life without her, Andre must have felt terrible. "What school are you in?" He asked. "Everton College. And you, what university?" "University of Johannesburg. First year student but I'm sure you know that" My phone had been off since the previous night and I had no intention of talking to anyone, anyone but Andre.

"How about we get clean and then I'll make you something to eat" "Sounds like a great idea, but I left my toiletries at home" "Faye put new towels and a brand new toothbrush yesterday, we were expecting my aunt. And as for the clothes, I think I have something you can work with" he opened the door that led to his bathroom. "Don't be too long" and he winked. I didn't know how butterflies felt like but I felt a couple of them in my stomach, this was a new feeling to me. I got out, dried my hair and wrapped a towel around me. The bed was neatly done and a skinny jean with an overside tee were neatly folded. I smiled. I sometimes failed to believe that guys could be so sweet. All I did was flirt.

I joined Andre in the kitchen. He was making pancakes and Kenan and Loyiso were staring at him. "You got some didn't you?" Loyiso asked. "Guys come on, she's not like that" Andre replied. "Geen man. Al van n skielike jy maak pannekoek. Its either you got some or you're totally whipped" Kenan said. "Or what if I'm in love?" The other two just laughed. "You haven't even had a stable relationship in your life. Nineteen year olds don't fall in love, they party my boet!" Said Loyiso. "Well keep on partying" Andre said. I walked over with my head down and sat next to Kenan. "Die mooi meisie. How are you today Princess?" He asked. "Tired, but great thanks" I replied with a smile. "You know I never make pancakes but you deserve the best so here". Andre handed me a plate of pancakes with a tiny block of butter melting from the top, he then gave me syrup. "Enjoy" he said with a smile. Andre was just too perfect, there had to be something about him. He also has never had a stable relationship in his life I guess that's why all those girls were looking at me last night, he flirted with them. Just the Faye walked in with Lesley. "Goeie moré julle. Gosh what smells so good?" She asked. "You can start by telling me where you two spent the night" Andre said. "Okay luister, you know how the party ended here and you didn't  care cause you were caught up with rich girl? Yea me and Lesley went to search for the vibe and we found this awesome party by Lesley's half cousin's crib, Michael. The one who lives there by Sebastian's crib. It was awesome you missed out. My brah the laaities there, man I wish you came!" She said. I laughed. "Nah man moenie lag man, I was going get you a guy. Unless you already have one" "No thank you. I don't date anymore" she grabbed a pancake and rolled it up. "Well that's your loss. I'm going to take a shower. Lesley kom" I later learned that Lesley liked Faye, a lot. But she wasn't prepared to settle down and be stable. Unlike me she had the option to.
