Chapter 6: The Forest

I've known I was going to come here since Winter. Now, it's the beginning of Summer. The Black Forest is like a mix of twists and turns. If you enter the maze, you probably won't return. That's why I came here. So I can live my life. So no one can find me. And I can't find them. I draw in a breath, and enter The Forest.

It's dark in the beginning. Truly pitch black. I guess that's how it got it's name.

I continue walking along the roots and twigs embedded in the ground. I am very tired and need to sleep soon. But I know I can't because, well.... this IS The Black Forest. I don't know how many species of bugs live here... but I think I've been bitten by quite a few already. I am getting light-headed and dizzy. The changing temperature doesn't help much with that. In some spots it's as cold as The Arctic and in other spots it's so sticky and hot I want to die. I feel bad for Sophie where as her body is either trembling from being too cold, or she is panting from being too hot.

I finally decide it would be best if we set up camp and got some shuteye. I pull the sleeping bag out and lay it on the gooey grass. I use my bags for my pillows. Sophie crawls inside the sleeping bag and snuggles right up against me. I pet her soothingly until I fall asleep.

Hey Guys! Thanks so much for reading! Comment, Vote, Like! You are the best.

Author's Note: I know this chapter is SUPER short... but I wanted to finish it so I could move on to the next chapter which I promise will be way better/longer than this one.

Love y'all,
