Queen Loreli A.K.A. Cassia's mom's POV

Horror. Pure horror. That's the only thing I can think of to describe her note. My heart nearly stopped beating and my whole world came crashing down. I knew this day would come. I was hoping it wouldn't. She wasn't my daughter by blood but in my heart.... she was my baby. I knew it wasn't fair to make her become a Princess. I knew she was too adventurous to stay here forever. I always thought she would one day break out of these safe, stone Castle walls. I should have protected her. But I can't dwell on what I should've done. I can only focus on what I can do now.

I run out into the hallway outside her room and start screaming for help.

"HELP! SOMEONE! ANYONE! HELP ME!" I yell at the top of my lungs.

The guards start running towards me. "Ma'am? What's wrong?" the head-guard asks.

I hand him the note and he reads it carefully.

He looks up at me wondering what I want him to do.

"Find her!" I yell. "Look everywhere! Ask anyone if they've seen her. Bring my baby back to me," I say pleadingly.

"Yes, Ma'am," they say running away to go find my daughter.

-------------------------------------

"WHAT?!? Oh god, no. Not Cassia." says my husband, The King, feverishly.

"I know," I reply sadly. "I've already sent the guards to look for her," I say.

"But that won't help, will it!" he yells.

I look at him, my eyes filled with fear.

"You know our daughter. She is the most determined, most intelligent girl you will ever know. And Loreli, if she doesn't want to be found, she won't be."

I look at him astounded. "How can you just give up on her? On me?" I cry.

"I'm not giving up on either of you. Of course I want to find her. I'm just saying that it wont be easy," he states cupping my chin.

"We'll do whatever we can to bring her home," he promises. I nod and he kisses my forehead. But it doesn't make me feel any better.

-------------------------------------

My husband and I are sitting in our thrones in The Throne Room waiting for the guards to arrive. They sent word that they may have a lead on Cassia.

The silence is unbearable and uncomfortable. I stare at the doors. Waiting. Finally, after what seems like forever, the doors fly open. The guards are surrounding two small men that have their hands behind their backs.

"This is the owner of Dragon Transport," one of the guards say.

"Tell her your story," he says shoving one of the men before us.

"I'm just an elf!" he cries.

"Your story!" I boom.

"Okay, okay! There was this girl who came up to me last night real late, she fits the description of your Princess you see... She asked me if she could ride a dragon North. I asked her if she had money, she said no. So I told her no ride! But then she told me she was the Princess, and of course I didn't believe her! Until she showed me her royal pendant and then I got her a Dragon real quick," he finishes.

"Did you give her the ride?" asks The King.

"Oh no, sir. That was my colleague, Alexander," he replies.

"We took him too," calls out a guard.

"Thank you, Elf, you've been a great help to us," I say giving my sweetest smile.

"My pleasure, Ma'am. Except, tell your guards not to be so rough next time, the journey here was quite uncomfortable," he complains.

I give him a scowl and the guards bring him back and throw Alexander before us.

"Your story," I say again.

"Well, I gave the girl a ride North on the dragon, Firebolt. I dropped her off at this little clearing about 11 miles away from Dragon Transport. She didn't tell me where her final destination was and I imagine it was not that clearing. The peculiar thing is that I asked her name and she said it was Annabeth," he trails.

"Well, she probably lied to cover her tracks," I state.

"Thank you. Both of you. You have been a big help. Take the Elf back to Dragon Transport but leave Alexander here. He needs to take the guards to the clearing and then he can return as well," I say.

The Elves both bow and the two groups leave. I feel so happy that I collapse to the ground crying. My husband is leaning down over me trying to help but I don't care. I'm too focused on the fact that Cassia will be with us soon. I will never let her out of my sight again.
