Cassia's POV ---

He noticed it fast. One minute we were laughing, Sophie laying at our feet happily... And the next minute, he says,

"Cass, I don't mean to alarm you, but there seem to be some Guards outside the Cabin. Now, you're going to laugh really hard and pretend that I didn't tell you that," he says.

My heart leaps in my chest, then comes to a stop. I can't breathe. They found me. Oh my god. But I do as he says. I start laughing really hard and loud, and he does too. It's actually pretty convincing.

"Now, I'm going to casually walk out of the room, towards the back exit. And you're going to stay here for about 30 seconds, then follow me out. I'll get some of our things. Bring Sophie with you. Now smile lovingly at me," he commands.

I smile like he says. He gently pats my knee then walks out of the room. I shiver and I'm not quite sure why. I count in my head from 1 to 30. It's the longest 30 seconds of my life. Then I quietly get up, and pat my leg, motioning for Sophie to follow me. She does, and Sophie and I both walk behind the closet area. Jeff quickly slips a coat on me, it's a little big, but at this moment, I really don't care. He hands me my two bags that I came with, and Sophie's leash. I quickly slip it on her collar, and brace myself for a long time of running.

"Are you ready?" whispers Jeff. I silently nod, telling him that I am.

He quietly opens the door, and we slip outside. I close it slowly behind us.

There are guards surrounding the Cabin. But they are not very smart, and don't see us sneak past them. They are too busy gloating about how they will get to say that they were part of the mission that brought back "The Run-Away Princess." This boils my blood, and only wants to make me get away faster.

Once we get about 20 feet into the Forest, we start sprinting fast and we go far.

We must have gone about a mile now. "Run!" I keep thinking to myself. My breath is becoming ragged and my legs are pumping as fast as I can possibly go. My heart is beating so fast I think it is going to explode out of my chest. I am drawing in breaths every second but it isn't filling my lungs enough. I want to slow down so bad but if I do, they will find me. My foot-steps fall into pace with my fast-beating heart. I can't go anymore! My muscles are begging me to stop and my lungs are screaming for air. Twigs snap beneath my feet and I can't see where I am going. I only have Jeff's strong arms and hands to guide me.

Once we get about 3 miles in, we slow to a walk. Sophie is breathing hard and so am I. Jeff seems unfazed, amazingly.

"They are going to find me," I say, breaking the silence.

"They won't," he growls. "I won't let them."

Hey guys! Thanks so much for reading! Comment, Vote, Like! You are the best. BTW: I did use a part of another book I am writing called "Chasing Me" in a certain paragraph. Don't worry, I changed it, so it is not exactly like it is in my other book. I will post another chapter tomorrow.

Love,
