Marliyyah smiled as the coolness of the water hit her toes as she dipped it into the water. The environment was so serene and the grasses as well as the flowers were in full bloom. She felt at peace but she could not shake off the feeling that she was not complete. She needed something to fill the void.

Or someone.

As she was thinking of the void in her heart, the clouds suddenly began to darken and the peaceful greenery began to dissolve into a dark forest with black trees and angry looking trees.

Fear began to creep into her heart and she could not fathom the reason for the sudden change in environment. The feeling of unease began to wrap itself around her heart and she shivered, suddenly feeling very cold.

In the distance, not too far away from her,she heard the howl of a wolf and her heart beat profusely as she sought for shelter. She quickly stood up and and ran in no particular direction, safety her immediate priority.

As she ran,she heard the howl of the wolves become closer and she urged her legs to move faster. She ran into the forest until she came to a dead end, with no where to turn to. She quickly hid behind the maze of trees that was to the left of the dead end and tried to be as quiet as possible.

She heard the crunch of twigs and she knew the wolf was aware of her presence in the forest and was now taking its time to search for her, taunt her as she was its prey and instil fear in her heart of her impending doom.

Marliyyah did her best to remain calm and even her breathing so she would not give herself away. However,an insect fell on her shoulder and she let out a scream out of fear, realising a moment to late that she had given herself away as she saw the wolf 's head turn to the direction of her scream.

Her eyes met it's bloodthirsty ones and she paled in fear. Quickly, she backed away from the bushes and ran for her dear life. She could hear the wolf closing in on her and she ran with all of her strength until she tripped on a twig and fell to the floor. She groaned in pain, realising she had cut her shin and she began to crawl away with difficulty from the wolf that was taking its time to walk to her and increase her fear.

As her back hit a tree, she closed her eyes, knowing that she had no place to go and she began to pray for a not so painful death from the wolf. She waited for the wolf to attack her but she neither heard no felt nothing.

She opened her eyes just in time to see a flash of metal and a spray of blood as a sword sent the head of the wolf flying in the opposite direction. She looked up to sheet the owner of the sword and the person who had saved her.
