I get up early every morning to cook my baby some breakfast, get her clothes and underwear ready for work, and run her bath water. I'm not working while I'm pregnant so its the least I can do.
I'm going through AJ drawers to get her boxer briefs when I come across a gun. "The fuck?" I whispered to myself. I got her underwear and bra and closed the drawer. The alarm finally went off and I woke her up with kisses like I do every morning. "Morning baby." She kissed me and got out of bed. "Your water is ran with your glass of green tea, breakfast will be done when your out and dressed." "Thank you beautiful." She rubbed my stomach then bent down to kiss it. "Good morning my baby." As usual the baby got excited at the sound of her voice.
I had AJ and I plate fixed by the time she made her way in the kitchen. "I'm a lucky woman." I looked up at AJ who sat down and had her hands out ready to pray. "Father God, we come to you this morning first of all giving thanks for waking us up this morning. God we ask for a productive, safe, positive day. Protect my lady and our child in whatever activities she engage in today. Protect my baby girl and give her the strong mind to get through school today. And protect me on my way to and from work. We thank you for this breakfast provided by my lovely lady and we ask you bless the hands that prepared it. In your sons name, Amen." I said Amen and started eating my breakfast. Amiya has another hour before she has to get up for school. AJ goes to work at 3:30. Amiya's bus comes at 5:30. "So babe, I found a weapon in your drawer this morning. Care to explain?" AJ looked at me and took a deep breath. "It was Josiah's, don't tell Jas. Me and Zoe took it from him. He is set out to protect his sister. We don't know where it came from or how he got his hands on it. Important thing is, he doesn't have it anymore." I stopped eating and stared at her. "Why wouldn't y'all tell Jas? She gone knock all three of y'all out." She took a couple more bites before checking her watch. "Zoe said she'll handle it, Jo will eventually tell on himself, him and Jas like best friends. She'll find out." She got up and washed the dishes before throwing on her jacket. "I love you and I got to go. Be careful in what you do today." She went to kiss Miya then hugged and kissed me goodbye. "I love you, be careful babe." I watched as she grabbed her keys and left. Now on to get Miya things ready for school. I love my baby's, I couldn't ask for better.
