"What you talking about Siah? It was nobody." He sat there looking at me. "If it was nobody why you get off the phone when you heard me coming." I took a deep breath as I breast fed Nova. "Babe, it was nobody. I was talking to my cousin, your homeboy, Cam." I saw his body tense up. "Since when is Cam your cousin? What the fuck y'all doing talking? We been together how long and I didn't know this? Don't play no games with me." I finished up with Nova before I grabbed her bag and a blanket for us to sleep downstairs.
"Why y'all down here Diamond?" I looked up from texting to see Jas standing in front of me as Nova slept in her bassinet. "Siah and I into it." She shook her head and sat on the couch beside me. "About what?" I sighed cause I really didn't want to talk about it, at least not with his sister. "I was on the phone with Cam, my cousin, when Siah was coming upstairs so I could feed Nova. I got off the phone with Cam and told him I'll text him tomorrow cause Siah was coming. Your brother heard me and flipped when I told him who it was. He doesn't believe Cam is my cousin." Jas sat there and shook her head. "Since when is he your cousin?" I looked at Jas and obviously she doesn't believe me either. "We found out about two months ago, he was at my aunt house. They told us we're cousins." She sat there and took a deep breath. "Go talk to Jo, he probably up there giving Cam a questionnaire right now. I got Nova."
I made my way upstairs and walked in the room. Siah was laying across the bed playing with his music. "Can we talk?" He continued playing with the music. "Only if you ready to be honest. If not, go back downstairs till you are." I looked at him crazy and shut the door. "I understand you mad. But I'm not Nova or these hood rat bitches throwing they self at you repeatedly even after you turn them down. Listen and listen good.." He sat up and closed his laptop, folded his legs and looked at me. "From what we were told, Cam is my cousin, he was at my aunt house bout two months ago. We both were wondering why we was there. His dad is my aunts husband. Cam and his dad doesn't have a good relationship. He wasn't at the wedding, they have no pictures of him in the house and every time there's a family cookout Cam doesn't show up. Him and my aunt relationship is adorable, you'd think she's his real mother. Every now and then she talks him into coming to see her. We just happen to go see her on the same day." I took a deep breath as tears rolled down my face. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you babe. You can ask him, you can ask my aunt. He calls and text all the time to check on us and see how Nova doing. He ask about your health all the time. I'm so sorry." Siah got off the bed and hugged me as tight as he could. We hardly ever argue. He's my best friend, and arguing with him gets to me so bad. We barely have bad days but when we do they hit hard. He's my daughter father and I don't know what Id do without him. "You should've told me. I love you, you could've just told me. I'm sorry."
